The Deerling sits on inherited farm land, and is a life-long dream of my parents’. We are grateful to be able to share this little piece of the wild woods of WV! Learn more about this land: Come find your unwind at our new, cozy cabin in the secluded, wild woods of WV! This cabin is newly constructed in all pine (interior and exterior) with oak kitchen cabinets and a tiled indoor shower. Includes a loft with hand-crafted stair railing. Unique and creative touches blend together to make a welcoming and peaceful place to unwind alone or with your family and friends to rejuvenate and renew. Hiking trails are available on the property. Remote enough to be at least 30 min away from convenience and gas stores.

Relaxing Getaway

We went with another family and all stayed in the cabin together (4 adults, 4 kids). We truly had the best time. Kids were electronic free all day but they never complained because they were having outdoor fun! The pond right next to the Cabin is full of frogs, salamanders, and some fish. We hiked the trail next to the cabin and did the scavenger hunt. We brought our go-kart and found a fun muddy spot to go through. We left the cabin only once and that was to go to the Wildlife Center down the road (about 15-20min). The ponds aren't really big enough to fish, but you if you drive up the road a bit, there's a public access area. We brought our own bottles of water, but a Britta filter is in the fridge if needed. Shower was nice. There's a washer and dryer. We brought a hammock but the cabin also came with 2-3 more. We played board games, hung around the campfire and made smores. And the best part, we just relaxed! It was so peaceful (except the cows were very chatty). Really no one else around. We sat on the porch enjoying the breeze and each other's company. I have already recommended this place to my coworkers if they need a getaway from the chaos of every day life.
