Field of Dreams
Quiet with a beautiful sky
My husband and I prefer quiet campsites and this place was perfect. After driving from Nashville we really wanted to get a taste of the mountains in West Virginia. A narrow road to the top of the ridge brings you to Brian’s hip camp property. A gently sloping field behind his house to the edge of the woods are where the sites are. I saw 2 sites and both were very private from each other and the house. We had a nice picnic table, fire ring, garbage container, and out house pit toilet. All clean and tidy. The field allows big open views of the sky and can see the surrounding peaks through the trees. Brian and his visiting dad were very welcoming. We had a nice fire with wood collected on site, watched the sunset and saw the sunrise all with bird song. It was a lovely way to complete 2 weeks of car travel. So grateful we found this spot and it was available. Drove to the New River Gorge NP for some nice hiking.

The Glade
Nice camping areas with good views. The sites are a good ways away from each other so you have plenty of privacy. Brian was great, good communication. Each site has a nice picnic table and fire ring. We liked that it was dog friendly.

Host was very friendly + helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We liked that you're able to pick any open area in the meadow to camp. We picked the top of the hill so it was very windy, but it did die down later in the evening and following morning.

This site is awesome! So much space, and the sites are very private. There was plenty of dry wood down for nightly fires, and the fire ring, picnic table and trash can were very appreciated. Brian was a wonderful host and was very accommodating of our late arrival. Would definitely recommend!
