Our stay at Rachael’s was my first time using Hipcamp. She sets the bar pretty high. We came on Labor Day and we’re the only ones there for most of the time.

The area she has set up for the tent is charming and the horses come right up beside the tent. Those booking should be aware that the animals do their business throughout the area open to campers so you have to watch where you step, but they had the place pretty clean for the most part.

She also provided a propane fire pit to use which was great, and there’s electric outlets in the tent so you can charge your cell phone or any other devices you need to. There’s also a space heater in case it gets super cold. Directions were super straightforward and made the place easy to find.

The only suggestion to her that I would give is to maybe increase the light by the port-a-potty close to the gate, they had string lights up around it, but they were very dim, so unless you have a lantern or flashlight with you, the walk across the field at night is pretty dark. Not a huge hassle, but there’s no where to place the light inside the port a potty while ch makes going to the bathroom more challenging at night.

Otherwise our stay was amazing, we loved it and hope she will have us again in the future.

Thanks for your feedback. We are working on providing a closer private pee tent for next year as the hike to the potty is a bit much for a late night wee. This late in the year with less daylight, the solar lights in the tree get dimmer, I will look into getting a solar light inside the potty, this is the first time it has been mentioned that it is needed. The property is well lit up by the Air Force base runway, so it is as bright as a full moon at night. We are experiencing an extreme drought this year so while the grounds were vacant for a few days I let my horses "mow the lawn" as the pasture is drying out and they are running out of grazing this year. I picked up all the apples in the campsites and tossed them in the tall grass, gardens and around trees. So if you went exploring through the garden beds or tall grass, you might step on an apple. Manure makes great fall fertilizer for my beautiful wildflowers. So yes if you come early or late in the season, you will see horse apples around as it is a farm and we use natural fertilizer and allow horses to graze the grounds.

Rachael's Safari Bell Tent was awesome. It comes with everything you need so it glamping ready when you arrive! Love how comfortable the tent was inside. Even during a burn ban she had a propane fire pit ready so that we can still have a campfire experience! Would love to stop by again!

We had a rough day that day. Got a flat tire on the freeway in 100degree heat.... Anyway by the time that ordeal was resolved we didn't feel like driving any more and found this bell tent. It was cute, had beds, cooking utensils, condiments, it was calm and quiet. We picked wildflowers and visited with the animals. Will definitely be visiting again.

I’m not usually a fan of car-camping (if I have to sleep outdoors I would rather backpack 8+miles to a location where i am actually away from it all). I don’t like listening to someone else’s generator, motor, AC, or even their conversation from the next campsite.

Rachel’s Bell tent was my car camping dream! I didn’t have to set anything up, the beds were more comfortable than air mattresses, the Edison lights and decor added a nice glow in the evening, and the sunrise was gorgeous. We didn’t hear the neighboring sites at all, and even though we saw their trucks/trailers, they were quiet and we barely noticed them.

My family all agrees that if car camping was always like it was for us at Willow Creek farm, we would do it more often.

The cats visiting the tent were the icing on the cake.

Thank you for such a nice compliment I guess I hit the mark this time. My goal at Willow Creek Retreat is to provide a peaceful quiet experience for all campers by limiting the number of people per site, spacing the sites out generously so that campers are not near each other and pricing out troublemakers. Sounds like my efforts are making a difference! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
