Stunning locale and lovely quietnes
We had never used Hipcamp before and thought this would be a good place to start - we weren't wrong! We loved our stay!!
- I will say that the pictures gave me the impression that the bell tent was going to be entirely secluded - but it is one of a handful of campsites on Rachael's land. There are RV, camper and tent sites in the same area and we weren't quite expecting to see everybody so easily. That was initially disappointing, but only as an expectation adjustment.
- This also meant we all shared the same port-a-potty, which again isn't an issue as much as we did not fully understand that when booking it.
- Finally, the bell tent site doesn't have a full sized picnic table which made food preparation a bit difficult. Small quibbles overall!
- Wow, is it GORGEOUS!!! A huge, wide open sky. Several farm animals that graze so close to you, it truly is a 'Farm Safari'. Friendly doggies and a gazillion birds singing their songs! We loved it.
- The grounds are lush and Rachael provides on-site campfire wood.
- We purchased the ground beef and it was delicious!
- Rachael was attentive, kind and so friendly! I knew we'd have help if we needed it.
- Having cups, plates, utensils and a bed ready to go was a TREAT!!
- It was SO quiet! Despite there being a couple other campers, it was still the more serene camping trip I have ever taken.
Thank you to Rachael for providing us with a great anniversary experience! We plan to return!!
Picturesque and serene.
Our stay at Rachael’s was my first time using Hipcamp. She sets the bar pretty high. We came on Labor Day and we’re the only ones there for most of the time.
The area she has set up for the tent is charming and the horses come right up beside the tent. Those booking should be aware that the animals do their business throughout the area open to campers so you have to watch where you step, but they had the place pretty clean for the most part.
She also provided a propane fire pit to use which was great, and there’s electric outlets in the tent so you can charge your cell phone or any other devices you need to. There’s also a space heater in case it gets super cold. Directions were super straightforward and made the place easy to find.
The only suggestion to her that I would give is to maybe increase the light by the port-a-potty close to the gate, they had string lights up around it, but they were very dim, so unless you have a lantern or flashlight with you, the walk across the field at night is pretty dark. Not a huge hassle, but there’s no where to place the light inside the port a potty while ch makes going to the bathroom more challenging at night.
Otherwise our stay was amazing, we loved it and hope she will have us again in the future.
Great glamping spot!!!
Rachael's Safari Bell Tent was awesome. It comes with everything you need so it glamping ready when you arrive! Love how comfortable the tent was inside. Even during a burn ban she had a propane fire pit ready so that we can still have a campfire experience! Would love to stop by again!
Relaxing, restful retreat
We had a rough day that day. Got a flat tire on the freeway in 100degree heat.... Anyway by the time that ordeal was resolved we didn't feel like driving any more and found this bell tent. It was cute, had beds, cooking utensils, condiments, it was calm and quiet. We picked wildflowers and visited with the animals. Will definitely be visiting again.
Beautiful location, just perfect
I’m not usually a fan of car-camping (if I have to sleep outdoors I would rather backpack 8+miles to a location where i am actually away from it all). I don’t like listening to someone else’s generator, motor, AC, or even their conversation from the next campsite.
Rachel’s Bell tent was my car camping dream! I didn’t have to set anything up, the beds were more comfortable than air mattresses, the Edison lights and decor added a nice glow in the evening, and the sunrise was gorgeous. We didn’t hear the neighboring sites at all, and even though we saw their trucks/trailers, they were quiet and we barely noticed them.
My family all agrees that if car camping was always like it was for us at Willow Creek farm, we would do it more often.
The cats visiting the tent were the icing on the cake.
Amazing host! We learned so much in one day. The campsite is beautiful and very taken care of. The animals are very friendly and Charlie is my new best friend. We will be back again soon!
