Thanks for another great season, Hipcampers! Our calendar is now open for Spring/Summer 2022 - we hope to see you then!

--------

The Farm on Van Wyck is an 80 acre property that has been in the family since the 1950's. Half hay field and half forest, the land offers campers endless options for camping and exploring. While campers can see few houses in the distance, they are mainly surrounded by tall trees and wide open spaces. The Farm is a 10 minute drive from downtown Bellingham, Lake Whatcom, and several hiking/biking trails, 5 minutes from a quiet fishing lake, and only 2 minutes off of Mt. Baker Highway. It's a great place if you'd like to feel secluded or "off the grid", but still close to town and lots of recreation! We are open seasonally, from June 1st to September 30th.

--------

There are FIVE campsites on The Farm: three tent sites, one RV site, and one glamping site. This listing is for the RV site described below:

Our RV site is suitable for all recreational vehicles up to 22 feet in length. The site is located near the entrance of the property, next to a communal covered area and restrooms. Electrical plug-ins are available. Maximum of one vehicle and/or RV, two tents, and four adults (may add up to four additional guests for an extra $5/guest).

Guests may also camp at the RV site without an RV. If using the site for tent camping, a maximum of four tents, two vehicles, and four adults are allowed at the site (may add up to four additional guests for an extra $5/guest).

All campers staying at The Farm have access to the communal covered space, which has picnic tables for dining, drinking water, porta potties, and a handwashing station.

--------

You can find our other listings by searching "The Farm on Van Wyck Glamping Site" and "The Farm on Van Wyck Tent Sites".

*Vehicles with 4WD are recommended if there has been heavy rain recently.

**The field is hayed each year in late July. Before then, you can expect to be surrounded by long hay up to about 4 feet tall. We keep all campsites, the road, and walking trails mowed short throughout the camping season.

Beautiful quiet spot with twinkle lights! 😍 We backed our little teardrop trailer near the pavilion and it was perfect. Would be a nice venue for a cozy wedding. The term “RV site” means there is plenty of space for an RV, not that it has hookups. There is a normal wall outlet that you could use if you have an extension cord, and there are water cooler dispensers. There are super clean/large porta potties and a cute hand washing sink. It was perfect for our weekend in Bellingham for the Irish Festival.

Our family had a great time at the farm! We stayed at the RV site. No one else was there, so we had the place to ourselves, which was great. The kids loved walking around on the trails and visiting the goats! It was beautiful!

The short review:
The Farm on Van Wyck...perfect. Beautiful, quiet, relaxing. far enough to be rural, close enough for a lovely dinner in town.

The long review:
I was bringing my daughter to WWU to move her into the dorm. We towed our new (to us) camper to add to the adventure, and booked a few days at the farm. About 7 hours into our 13 hour drive our vehicle started having battery trouble. We had to stop several times to get it looked at which extended our drive to 18 hours. It was well after 1am when we arrived at the farm. When we turned off our vehicle, the battery died with zero chance of resuscitation. My daughter had a school function she needed to attend at 9am later that morning. At 8:30 Taylor was there to take my daughter to school and drop me off at the car rental agency.

Wait! The story gets better. As I was focused on moving my daughters things from one vehicle to the other, I was adding things to my mental to do list like calling AAA to tow my car to be serviced. It's COVID folks. Getting a car worked on could take weeks. I had a long drive home ahead of me. I worried about getting back to work on time. But it was Sunday, and nothing could be done until the following day. No amount of worrying would move my daughter's things and cozy up her dorm room. All of a sudden, Nick showed up with a few tools in hand. He offered to remove my battery so I could go get it checked. Maybe my car trouble really was just a battery problem. So he removed the battery. I got it checked. It really was just the battery. I bought a new battery at Costco which Nick installed. What was feeling like potentially thousands of dollars problem (would I have to leave my car and camper, fly home, and return when the vehicle was repaired?) turned into a $125 dollar problem plus a two day car rental. WHEW!

Now then, about the farm. It's beautiful. We loved it. It's an A+ location in that it's far enough out of town to be out in the country and close enough to easily enjoy all the charm Bellingham has to offer. The hosts, also get an A+. Seriously, hosts don't get any better. I'd highly recommend the Farm on Van Wyck and the lovely people who run it.

Adorable place! Close to Western, which is what we needed this weekend moving in our freshman daughter. Definitely will come back to enjoy it with our dogs for a true camping experience.

The Farm at Van Wyck is set in a beautiful area. So nice that trails have been laid out around the pasture and forest and a nice covered area as well. Convenient to so much in the Bellingham area. Just what we needed to visit our daughter. Thank you!

This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as our first time. We love the view, the nice covered pavilion, the firepit, the ease of access...everything! There were even some new fancy new motion activated lights around the sinks and bathroom that were very nice. Highly recommend this place. It is our go to Hip Camp in the Bellingham area!

Awesome stay, it was our third time back! The hosts are really sweet, the farm is very clean, private and relaxing. The goats and chickens make my daughters stay every time snd she even got to get some eggs. Thank you so much for opening your farm to us!!!

The farm is beautiful! The covered common area was great for getting out of the sun. The provided drinking water and restrooms were a plus. Taylor and Nick were a pleasure to meet. I loved being greeted by the pup everyday also! The road was a bit noisy with fast cars, but overall a great stay. I was very comfortable there.
