If you’re looking for peace, serenity and an incredible valley view just outside of Lake Chelan, this is the place for you. Our kids and dog enjoyed the land and we briefly met the owners who were very friendly and welcoming. It’s just a short drive to Chelan/Manson but feels worlds away from the crowds and crowded RV parks that surround the lake.
We stayed here for two nights off-grid and here’s what I can tell you so you can plan accordingly:
The last stretch of the journey is a dirt country road going up the hill. If it were rainy or snowy it might be difficult for some cars, but we went when it was bone dry and we pulled our 25ft Airstream behind our 4WD Yukon Denali and had no trouble at all. That’s pulling about 7,000lbs uphill on dirt and gravel, but at no point did we slip or feel worried.
The site itself is large enough to put a trailer in a couple of positions depending on your choice of view or where you want the shade from the one large pine tree. If you’re going to be boondocking, I recommend parking your trailer in the shade in order to stay cooler and keep your fridge cold because this is Eastern WA and it can get hot. There’s a picnic table, fire pit, and corn-hole boards which we enjoyed. There was enough room for us to hitch up, do a Y-turn, and leave with minimal backing up or extra maneuvering. Always a plus when 40+ feet long. We will come back here for sure.

Peaceful evenings of games, relaxation and glowing sunsets. The perfect site for boondocking.S’mores and chats with our Solo Stove (always check the current fire rules before arriving)Incredible panoramic valley views.

Our first Hipcamp experience, set the bar pretty high! This spot was private, quiet, has a beautiful view and is fairly close to town. Chris was a fantastic host and was very accommodating. The road was no big deal for our truck and trailer. We plan to visit again. Thanks Chris!

We had a most excellent one night stay at Sasquatch Vista. So secluded, beautiful, and had everything we needed: a fire pit and Cornhole game. Chris was very responsive and generous. We'll be back someday.

It’s a privilege these days to discover a new place to while on the road. We took a chance with Sasquatch Vista, and I’m glad we did. The campsite is serene with expansive views of the Columbia valley and mountains. It a great place to unwind and take in the landscape. Chris has the site beautifully appointed with lighting and a fire pit that can also be used for grilling. He was also a very responsive and courteous host and allowed us to walk and explore common areas on his property - plenty to walk and hike.

We drove a 30ft RV. The drive is steep, but straightforward. It has a couple of hairpins, but if you know what you doing, you’ll be fine. For a smaller RV/camper/car, it’s an easy drive. Totally worth it once you are at the top!

Great spot to overnight while on the roadBeautiful to sit out in the night and watch the valley and planes land in the distant airportKitchen readyTaking in the view
