We are developing gardens and a nursery for Chinese medicinal plants, starting this year (2018). Your host can introduce you to Chinese herbal medicine. We have a nice dog.

Nicolaas and his dog Dede were the best hosts. The stay on the property was a great opportunity to get away from it all. And the views were amazing! I only wish I would have been able to stay longer.

We were warmly welcomed by our host Nicolaas and camped in a spectacular spot with beautiful views and cooler (thank goodness) temperatures in the evening! We'd definitely stay here again!
Nicolaas is a great host, kind and generous to share some fresh garden vegetables and some of the stories of his very unique life. The land itself is magical, a beautiful drive in on a primitive county road that is well maintained enough for a wide variety of vehicles. This is wild, dispersed camping at its finest. Extremely quiet, serene, and worth all the effort. All with the added benefit of an amazing host and super friendly dog!
The coolest campground I’ve ever been too. Sunrise and sunset views are amazing. Having Nicolaas as a host made it that much better. He was very welcoming & helpful! Will definitely be coming back.

If I didn’t like Nicolaas so much, I’d probably not leave a review because I’d want to keep this insanely beautiful place to myself!
Honestly, of all my exploring throughout the state, this is undoubtedly one of the most breathtakingly stunning places I’ve ever camped. It’s super private, incredibly quiet, and unimaginably peaceful. We were reticent to take the long trip out from the coast, but it when we arrived, there wasn’t even one moment of regret.
Nicolaas is kind and generous as well as accommodating. He was always available if/when we needed anything, but he also really left us alone to explore and relax on our own.
I can’t recommend this place more highly!
If you're looking for a unique experience that's well off the beaten path, this might be it. From before we arrived, Nico was a great host and gave us all the pertinent information, which included informing of us his wonderful vegetable garden. Cooking our dinner and breakfast with fresh veggies was amazing. The Black Garlic, Shishito Peppers, and various perfectly ripe tomatoes were real treats. The location is visually stunning and peaceful as well. We're very grateful for Nico's kindness and willingness to share his sweet spot with us. Highly recommended!

This place is truly magical! Located in the highlands and pretty secluded from anything, anyone and anywhere Nicholaas nursery provides you with the amazing outdoor experience. The road up to Nicholaas‘ place is well maintained. We made it up there with our 4Runner and our 18feet r-pod without any problems. Nicholaas ‚ is a true homesteader and gardener. He specialized in Chinese medicine and can tell you tons of stories about the plants he grows in his amazing garden. We were invited to pick a site ourselves and please note you might have to drive over some small brushes to get where you want to (Nicholaas mentioned he is going to clear the sites from the brushes, so you might want to check in with him). He offers electricity which can be used by just plugging in an extension cord. Bring water as there is no potable water available. The views in the morning, at night, whenever are just gorgeous and truly magical. You can see the landscape with mountains behind them. We have seen so many stars and you can see the Milky Way in it’s full length as well. One note, Nicholaas has a dog (Didi) who is a super friendly. Cell connection doesn’t exist, so you can easily unplug. But, if you are in need, Nicholaas has Wi-Fi available, even though we didn’t use it. This is one of the best spots and Hipcamp sites we ever camped at. Thank you Nicholaas for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!!!!

Thank you Marek & Juliane. It was so nice to have you here and you gave me inspiration! Right after you left I cut down the plants to make the pathway to the campsite even clearer. I would love to see you again!
