We will definitely be back!
Charles and Willow were amazing camp hosts! It was easy to find and pet friendly! Beautiful and gracious amount of land to camp on and explore. Forks is only about a 13 minute drive for some last minute supplies. Beautiful beaches are a 30 min drive away. Best of both worlds and a wonderful weekend. Also the free firewood and really cool bench set up made for an easy camping experience. The fire pit came with a grill top as well!m, didn’t end up using it but next time will definitely have to cook some steak!
1/2 way - beaches vs. hurricane rid
Charles and his wife were lovely and the campsite is in a good location when heading between the National Park beaches and Hurricane Ridge. It's a good mid-point. We had a little bit of confusion about how check-in worked and sat down the lane longer than expected in the evening, not realizing we could continue all the way to the house. They were very apologetic once we all figured out we didn't need to wait by the trash cans/pull over spot.
Beautiful property just 10 minutes from Forks. Willow was so genuinely kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed chatting with her and loving on her old dog, Marley. I am so impressed with how they are stewarding the land and sharing it with others.
The campsite was simple but well-maintained, with easy access, a firepit stacked with wood, cute signs and planted flowers, and a shared outhouse. Willow described our site (Krystal Rose) as semi-private, but it was definitely private enough! Screened from neighbors and tucked into a little alcove, which blocked enough sound. Our suv added a bit extra privacy to the front, and we enjoyed two nights in our happy spot.
Cell reception was spotty, with no one to meet us on arrival, so we headed to their home (as instructed) when we were able to get a text through. Had the HipCamp listing not given very specific instructions to meet hosts first, who would then take us to our site, we would have found it easily/quickly enough. I'm glad we waited to meet Willow, though!
Perfect private place to rest
Charles and Willow are fantastic hosts and their amenities were exactly what we needed.
We stayed at the Sammi Rose site; it was private and had its own walk way to the porta potty. That was the cleanest restroom set up I have seen at a hip camp. They had hand washing station set up.
When we arrived they even had firewood, kindling, fire starter and a trash can at our site.
My family and I would 100% stay again!!! Perfect place to camp on your trip to the Olympic Peninsula.
What a gem of a place. Not only is the location extremely charming with its fairy tale trails and its southern vibe driveway, but the hosts are such precious people! So passionate about their vision for the property and their love to share it with everyone. I would recommend this spot even if you're just passing through! I can't wait to come back in this direction just to walk those trails once more. The massive ferns and mossy trees will take your breath away. When I arrived they had complimentary wood and fire starter all set up for me as well.
Magical, pure bliss and tranquility! Wonderful and welcoming hosts. Such a gorgeous and thoughtful location and layout. Close enough to the main road to continue exploring, yet far enough away to enjoy the sounds of nature. Can’t wait to come back!
