Ola fellow hipcampers! I inherited this special forested land from my father and have been striving to be the good steward of it. It's 9.11 acres, mostly treed with evergreens, firs, pines and cedars along with some deciduous, mostly maples and alders. I am improving the land and working hopefully in harmony with it. The neighbor's property to the west had all their trees cut down, not so good but on the brighter side it has opened up the view of the hillsides and the setting sun to the west! It's a little rainforest really but in the summer months there are so many beautiful moments of the golden sunlight in the trees and the soft breeze swaying the leaves. There is an amazing circular garden with a star in the middle. This was set in motion and stone by the previous owners and I have made it even better. It's pretty heavenly for the most part AND disclaimer here- we are in Weyerhauser country which means logging and work trucks on the roadway with the occasional yahoo motorcyclist or crazy racing maniac. Oh dear it's going to sound back but I must add that my same neighbor is up to some projects around his place with some heavy equipment. Sometimes.... So. Forty Winks in the Forest is what it is. If you need a place to crash in safety, nature and beauty then this is it. Overnights or in betweens or I will let you decide. To some it doesn't bother them much at all but I want you to be pleasantly surprised not uninformed disappointed. Better to set the bar low for all is up from there! This listing is for drive in camping with optional tent set ups. Multiple spots to park and camp for your forty winks in the forest! Choose a spot where you feel comfortable. I am new to hipcamp so forgive me in advance if anything is not clear! Our land is super woodsy and wild. We have done our best to carve out some great spots for you for parking, camping, star and fire gazing, mushroom hunting, breathing, bird watching and strolling. All sites are semi private having vegetation and some distance separating them. All have a firepit, some with rustic seats for your rear and one with a picnic table and adirondack chairs. Stroll the circular path through part of the property, ( this is also the driving path you came in on ) ,chill and ponder in our famous "star garden" and have a drink of our vital well water. ( access to garden and water is at northwest corner of fenced area or kitty corner southeast corner, both off of walking path ). The terrain is quite level but I do suggest wearing shoes as it is not a manicured lawn! Be aware of the odd blackberries catapulting onto the path, thistles, or of the yummy but stinging weed, stinging nettle. Close by within wandering, biking or driving distance is the river for a paddle, float, swim, hike or go for a long walk or bike along the many nearby trail systems. This area is a great launching ground to Mount Rainier, Tacoma, the capital Olympia, cute coastal towns like Gig Harbor and a whole slew of inlets and waterways to explore on day trips. The towns of Rainier, Yelm, Tenino and Centralia are close by -the latter two being the cutest. Ask for a "where to eat list". I love food! Disclaimer: Our land is generally very quiet but yes (unfortunately) we have neighbors on the ground as well as in the sky. There are loud trucks and motorcycles on the road occasionally but looking on the bright side when it's quiet it's more heavenly. Everyone loves the property for it's woodsy feel and that more than makes up for the occasional sound of civilization. It is what it is! All garbage goes with!
