Extremely cute farm, hammock site was great and firewood was waiting for us when we arrived. Bluegrass music from the neighboring winery was a great addition to the stay!

Lovely camp spot and wonderful hosts. Was planning to do Old Rag and the Shenandoah Park Loop and driving from out of state. Stayed here the night before to get an early start (10-15 min from Old Rag). We tent camped in a nicely maintained camp spot that was a short hike up a few trails. Private site and felt safe. The host was so pleasant and welcoming. It sounds and looks like there are ambitious plans for this property and my partner and I definitely plan to make a return trip next time we’re at Shenandoah.

Even with other people on the property I rarely heard or saw them. Spots spread out nicely.

July 4th, 2022

Camped over the fourth of July weekend with my sons (19/15). Sparrow Camp was a great setup. The campsites themselves were very remote feeling (esp. for a hipcamp), but Jen has a service to transport all of your gear to and from your site for $10 and drop firewood ($5) for you. The fire ring and wash station were in great shape and good additions. The campsites were spread so far apart that it almost had the feel of backcountry camping.
The location was excellent for hiking Shenandoah from the boundary - close to Old Rag and the White Oak Canyon trails.
Jen and her family were super accommodating, and we had a great stay. Thanks!

Really clear instructions on getting to the campsite, so pretty, and very close to some of the trails in Shenandoah NP! Would definitely camp here again if I find myself in the area :)

Beautiful location and great hosts! I highly recommend the sampler box, the farm-raised lamb and sausages were amazing. Their dogs are very cute and friendly, too :)

Things to know: If you camp at one of the tent sites, it's about a seven to ten minute uphill walk to the site. If you decide to transport your own gear, you'll need to be in good shape! The hosts will also help you transport your gear via ATV for a small fee- imo, if you don't want to pack your gear in, it's worth it. They provided us with about 6 jugs of non-potable water (and will bring refills if you ask), and will also transport your trash out, which is really nice of them! There is a bucket toilet (with a seat) and biobags that's located a good distance away from the main site in a lean-to, though we brought our own toilet. There is a wash station with a line for lights and utensils. Our site had a cute little table and chairs, and a nice, very good-sized firepit. There's plenty of downed wood to collect, though imo it's worth buying some firewood from the hosts. We had no cell signal at our site, but a short walk up the trail (at the split between the Wizard Rock and Fiddlehead trails) we had enough coverage to check our email, etc.

We loved this site- tons of gorgeous trees, beautiful green moss, and paths lined with tumbled quartz. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the little camp store was cute and convenient. We will definitely be back!

Plenty of room to set up a tent and gear! (We put up a solar shower and ran some tarps around it- our tarps are blocking the handy wash station the hosts set up, complete with soap and water!Sparrow Hammock CampLots of great trails for a short hike. There's livestock and a couple of very friendly farm dogs who may pay your site a visit! (Our old gal is very chill, we kept her safe in her carrier when the dogs came by, but if you have dog-reactive pets, keep an eye on 'em! The dogs are super sweet :) )

It was a magical spot! We loved it. Jennifer and John were super welcoming and helpful. The farm store is great and the vibe is authentic. Great local hikes, restaurants, and wineries too. The only trick is finding the place up the windy driveway. Definitely I'd like to come back.
