Spring Hill Farm is located in rural northwest Hanover County/Caroline County Border on the North Anna River in Virginia. We are between the Cities of Fredericksburg to our north and Richmond to our south. The family operates a seasonal organic produce farm during the summer months and make Christmas wreaths during the holiday season. There are approximately 140 acres of wooded acreage (plenty of places to pitch a tent) with a couple of trails, one leading to the North Anna River. However, there is no lighting in the camping areas at all. For your safety and enjoyment, please plan to arrive at least one hour prior to dark, so there is ample time to pitch your tent and know your surroundings prior to the sun setting. Except for the local freight trains, it is very quiet and peaceful. Private boat put in about 5 miles away. Walking access to river on site and at county line (1 mile). Local attractions within a 20 mile radius are Sassafras Shade Winery, Kings Dominion Theme Park, Virginia State Fairgrounds, Stonewall Jackson Shrine, Lake Anna State Park, North Anna Battlefield, Scotchtown (former home of Patrick Henry), Ashland Berry Farm, and Randolph Macon College. Nearest store for groceries and gas is about 5 minutes away in Chilesburg. 10 miles to fast food and pharmacy.
Spring Hill Farm is working organic farm three seasons out of the year. The majority of our customers belong to our co-op, but there is usually basic produce and eggs (delivered from a local farm) available July and August. If you would like more info or know what is available during your stay, please ask. If you are so inclined, you could also have the opportunity to volunteer here on the farm in the spring and summer months.
Summer Running Club: On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 7 pm., the public is invited to run/walk the property. Between trails, private road, and open field, it is easy to get your 5K. If nobody else shows, I am here. When he is not working, my XC son will be around for those who need more of a challenge, or vice versa!
Wedding Celebrant: I am licensed/ordained to perform marriages in the Commonwealth through my church. Pre-marital counseling is mandatory. If interested, please inquire.

Wonderful host and idyllic location
Camille was a wonderful host and the property was perfect for some good old fashioned primitive camping with our two young children and dog. We spent a lot of time exploring the property and playing in the North Anna river!
Great stay under the stars
Camille and Spring Hill Farm were so wonderful! We absolutely loved staying on the farm. Coming from the city, it was great to actually be able to see the stars. Camille met us when we arrived and showed us to our campsite and pointed out the various trails we could hike on. We had everything we needed to stay the night and more and our host went above and beyond to help us out when we realized we forgot a lighter! Thanks for having us!
Private, clean, host is great
Camille was away when we arrived but sent easy instructions via text. We were pleasantly surprised to find everything just as the site said it would be plus some. We would happily camp here again.
Gorgeous farm, perfect experience
This farm is an absolute paradise. The campsites are so perfectly secluded and the woods are thick and wild. Camille is a consummate host and I could not have been happier. It’s such a calm and lovely place. I couldn’t recommend it higher.
We had a great time on Spring Hill Farm! Camille met us and helped bring some of our supplies to camp while giving us a bit of history and explaining where the available trails were and how to access them. The site was about 10 minutes or less from the parking area and the path was lovely. You walk by a pond and around an open field to get to a site at the edge of the woods.
There was another camper at the other site but we would have never known it if she hadn't let us know. The first day and night was beautiful with a nearly full moon! The next day was a bit rainy but we still enjoyed our time there. There's a grocery store and restaurants about 17 minutes from camp if you need it. I would recommend Camille's property to anyone who wants some private time in nature accompanied by a chorus of chirps and tweets from birds and buggies.
Do not pass this place up!
This was my first time using hipcamp and I was not disappointed. The host Camille was extremely welcoming and ensured we knew where we were going and made sure the site was prepared. The land was beautiful, spacious and was exactly as it was depicted in the description. Would love to camp there again.
