Spring Hill Farm is located in rural northwest Hanover County/Caroline County Border on the North Anna River in Virginia. We are between the Cities of Fredericksburg to our north and Richmond to our south. The family operates a seasonal organic produce farm during the summer months and make Christmas wreaths during the holiday season. There are approximately 140 acres of wooded acreage (plenty of places to pitch a tent) with a couple of trails, one leading to the North Anna River. There is NO lighting in the camping areas at all. For your safety and enjoyment, please plan to arrive at least one hour prior to dark, so there is ample time to pitch your tent and know your surroundings prior to the sun setting. Except for the local freight trains, it is very quiet and peaceful. Private boat put in about 5 miles away. Walking access to river on site and at county line (1 mile). Local attractions within a 20 mile radius are Castle Glen Winery, Sassafras Shade Winery, Kings Dominion Theme Park, Virginia State Fairgrounds, Stonewall Jackson Death Site, Lake Anna State Park, North Anna Battlefield, Scotchtown (former home of Patrick Henry), Ashland Berry Farm, and Randolph Macon College. Nearest store for groceries and gas is about 5 minutes away in Chilesburg. 10 miles to fast food and pharmacy in Ladysmith or Carmel Church.

Spring Hill Farm is working organic farm three seasons out of the year. The majority of our customers belong to our co-op, but there is usually basic produce and eggs (delivered from a local farm) available July and August. If you would like more info or know what is available during your stay, please ask. If you are so inclined, you could also have the opportunity to volunteer here on the farm in the spring and summer months.

Summer Running Club: On Sundays at 7 pm., the public is invited to run/walk the property. Between trails, private road, and open field, it is easy to do a 5K.

Wedding Celebrant: I am licensed/ordained to perform marriages in the Commonwealth through my church. Pre-marital counseling is mandatory. If interested, please inquire.

Great location for privacy and relaxation. Camille welcomed us to the wonderful property and made sure we had everything we needed. We really appreciated that the campsite was on a green, surrounded by woods, and that we had the flexibility to pitch where we wanted to. The amenities were nice (pop-up toilet, benches, and fire pit) and we ordered eggs that were waiting for us on site already. Great view of stars and moon too!

Camille is extremely helpful and communicative; the space is absolutely gorgeous. We camped with 3 kids and a medium sized dog and had plenty of space to run around and explore. Site 1 had shade amongst the trees for tents, a giant meadow, and felt very secluded. Camille provided a wagon but if you have your own to transport gear to the sites (5-8 min walk), it would be helpful. We will for sure be back. .

I had a great time camping at Spring Hill Farm. Camille is so nice and accommodating. The space is nice and private. We brought our dogs and I think they are still upset we left lol. 10/10 and will definitely be returning.

Camille was an amazing host! Her directions were very detailed and made finding the camping spot a breeze. We stayed at campsite #1 were we had two wonderful choices of setting up our tent under the big night sky or back a bit under the protection of the trees. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the property has to offer. I would definitely recommend!

Felt very secluded! She was welcoming when we pulled up and showed us the campsite. Even included a video on how to get there before hand! I liked the makeshift composting toilet, definitely a step up from nothing. Fireplace was great quality. Definitely a good choice of place to stay.

It felt super private. The hike up is the only small downside. We saw multiple deer and the scenery was gorgeous. It was very clean and Camille was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this campsite!

Camille was a wonderful host and the property was perfect for some good old fashioned primitive camping with our two young children and dog. We spent a lot of time exploring the property and playing in the North Anna river!
