Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country.

We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat.

We live right up the hill.  Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home.  Usually you cannot but want you to be aware.  When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest.

During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land.  Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak.

There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.

During Spring through the fall, the museum is opened for visitors at 5.00 each visitor.  We also have a gift shop where local artist showcase their items and also they are for sale. Debit, Cash and Credit Cards are accepted.  Check out the Pamunkey Indian Reservation website and always call to make sure their hours haven't changed.

This campsite is absolutely gorgeous in every way! From the majestic and peaceful view to the exceptional host I can only say wonderful things about my stay.

The atmosphere is perfect for anyone who is looking for a place to do some emotional or spiritual healing. I arrived in what I would describe as emotional shambles and left feeling much more grounded and centered, Allyn was amazing and offered a level of comfort that only she could. I was fortunate enough to have my first Reiki session with her and I would strongly suggest it to anyone who is considering it or to those who have never tried it.

From the moment I arrived I was made to feel at home. My wood was nicely placed waiting on me to arrive and when I requested an additional bundle, she didn’t hesitate to deliver!

There are no words that can show my appreciation for Allyn’s hospitality! I will be forever grateful for her kind words and support during such a difficult time for me.

Had a wonderful time but a very interesting camping trip here with my family. The first night was very interesting as there was a tropical storm (Hurricane Elsa) that hit the east coast. The site got flooded and we had to get back to the car around after midnight. We came back to the site the next morning and the water subsided. We then decided to move the tent next to our car to which is safer later during that day. While Allyn is very nice and accomodating to us (she’s awesome btw!), that thunderstorm was beyond anyone’s control and for us campers we just always gotta stay vigilant.

Nonetheless, the site was phenomenal, we got the best sunset on our second day. The river has so much fishing opportunities to offer, caught a big blue catfish right by our site too.

It was a very memorable and a great experience for us. We can’t wait to be back soon!

PS:
1. Outdoor shower is a must! Very relaxing and has the best views of the water. Don’t forget to include that with your booking.
2. Kayak/canoe is a must! Caught tons of white perch and few more catfish while paddling. Also include this with your booking!!
3. Visit the Pamunkey Indian Museum! It’s nice to know the culture and history of the people from this place. We were stoked to learn about Allyn’s family background here! Not gonna spoil it, you guys should come and see this place to know!!

If you’re looking for a trip filled with serenity and good energy, this is the place for you. The view from where you’re camping is absolutely beautiful, as well as the wild life that catches your eye at every second of the day. I really enjoyed the morning kayak and canoeing we got to do, even coming a few feet a way from a wild egret that was in the water! Allyn is an amazing person/hostess and has the purest of intentions for your stay. She makes you feel welcome and accepted for who you are. I am extremely grateful to have met her and also get a reiki session from her. She’s an intuitive, great listener and a wonderful advice giver. Thank you Allyn, for being who you are and letting my friends and I experience this for my birthday. We will definitely be back soon!!!

I had the most amazing 2 days at this site. Between the beautiful views of the bay, and feeling that I was on some private island even though only being steps away from her residence, it was wonderful! Allyn made my stay comfortable and made me and my best friend feel welcomed and safe upon arriving and made us want to come back again very soon. The site sits down on at the bottom of a hill blocking the view from the house and giving you uninterrupted view of the beautiful water . While it was there I saw Hawks fishing gorgeous tree frogs, and every color of dragon fly I could have ever imagined. I would recommend this 1,000% to anyone looking for a beautiful serene peaceful place to stay.

We camped here for two nights. It's right on the water, with the host's house up the hill. It's a beautiful spot! We enjoyed seeing the herons and listening to the toad serenade at night. Beautiful stars! Allyn was super friendly. We're new to fishing and her tips on good spots and lures helped us catch a couple of big fish. See the pictures! We had a great time.

The fish seemed to like this one.Sunrise colors were nice too. :)Catching a catfish! (We think there were bass nearby...)Great fishing spots by the bridge and straight out a little ways from the campsite.

Our weekend stay was very enjoyable. The site gave us privacy, and access to woods for short hikes and to water for canoeing and seeing and hearing all of the animals that live in and around it. Our hosts were very nice to talk to, hospitable, and accommodating.

We set our tent up at the top of the trail that led down to the ground by the water, where the fire pit was.A cute duck watched the sunset with us.Reservation Camping on the Water!
