Fabulous location and fabulous host! Rodney was extremely helpful and flexible with anything we could possibly need. I look forward to camping there in the future!
Spent my birthday on Rodneys land, and it was a night to remember. Rodney prior and during the stay was very accommodating and kind. The stars are beautiful and clear at night. Bonfire kept my company close and warm. Woke up next to beautiful horses. Portable toilet might be out of your comfort zone, but we didn’t mind. Free wood was a plus.

Great place with a very nice host. He was helpful but not smothering, and made sure we had everything we needed. The farm is a lot of fun- this would be a great place for families in particular, as the animals are super friendly (goats, dogs, chickens, cats, etc.!) It's close enough to civilization to be comfortable, but far enough away that you feel like you're getting away from it all. (The only note is that, since it's a farm, there's a ton of house flies- but it's not like they bite or anything, just bring some bug spray and light a fire, and you'll be fine.) Highly recommended, Rodney is a really nice guy :)
What an amazing spot for camping. We had the bottom field all to ourselves and all fenced in so felt so safe for the kids. Next to a field of horses and another of goats. Kids had a blast! The lovely fire pit with tree stumps around it as chairs and a picnic table. Really peaceful and near Fredericksburg which was lovely to wander around ! Could do with a portapotty as only a bucket but that’s the only addition needed ! Thanks Rodney.
Just as advertised. Rodney was very kind to let the kids feed the goats and chickens. The space was private enough and the picnic table and fire pit were all we needed. He was a very kind host. This was our first hipcamp experience and we were very happy with it.

We had a great experience staying at Cross Creek Farm - tent. We were a group of 5 families and it was very first camping experience for most of us but we really enjoyed it. We could not have imagined or expected anything more than what we were able to experience. It was kind of a private camping site for us as there were no other campers except our group. We had lots of fun throughout our stay there. We enjoyed grilling, having a bonfire(wood provided by Farm Owner), roasting s'mores, singing, dancing and playing family games. Mr. Rodney, the farm owner was kind enough to let our kids play with the farm animals. Overall it was a very good experience and Mr. Rodney played a very good host. We definitely recommend this to any first time campers. Go with your awesome group on a good weather day and you will definitely have fun.
Cross Creek Farm was a beautiful place to chill on the way to the next Dead and Company show. The RV add on was very much appreciated. It kept us from having to pitch and pull-up our tents in the rain. Rodney was a very hospitable host. I enjoyed talking to him about the animals and hosting hipcampers. I would definitely recommend checking out Cross Creek Farm to anyone.
We were welcomed with a big smile, a field of happy horses and instructions on where to set up camp for the night. A grassy field bordered by a tree line and fencing provided a cozy spot fir the night along with a humble fire pit and privy for the latrine. Though it was already dark, Rodney showed us the spicket to collect water, generously supplied firewood for our cooking needs and to my sons’ delight, kindly introduced us to the farm’s family of goats and dogs. We had all we needed for a comfortable night and it was a pleasure to stay on Rodney’s farm and make his acquaintance.
