Wonderlost homestead is nestled in the small beautiful and artistic town of Brandon Vermont. With the total amenities of privacy and a beautiful property with a stunning view of the green mountains, yet the complete convenience of having town with in a stones throw . Literally! Located 17 mins from Middlebury , 50 mins from Burlington, 45 mins from killington and 25 from Rutland In the summer on weeknights and weekend evenings , more likely than not you will hear the live music from town almost as if you’re right there listening . We encourage decent volumed music and all the laughter you can, we just ask out of decency to our neighbors to keep it down after 10pm on weeknights and 11:30 on weekends. (Yelling/inconveniently loud music) We have fire pits located at your site, and a communal one on the main property level. Water is accessible by hose on the main property level as well. Enjoy petting the goats Thelma and sally struthers , and getting to know them, or our dog and security guard / herder (but very loving and non aggressive ) Odin. If you’d prefer not to be on the woods, we also have the top property field where you have an amazing view of the green mountains along with the rest of the main property and gardens. We sell organic vinegars, beeswax wraps, pickled Veg, ramp salts & butter spreads , and stone ground organic mustards on site, so don’t be afraid to ask ! Enjoy your evening watching the sun go down on the mountains with a glass of wine up by the gardens in a lawn chair, or fishing the neshobe and cooking your catch riverside with a cold beer . (We have a kayak on the beach for our customers to use when available) there is a fire pit located at each site. Hiking, swimming ,skiing snow shoeing and thousands of miles of trails are all conviently located within a 5-50 min drive with SO MANY lakes and mountains and trails to choose from. We are in the works of building our outhouse and solar showers so currently we supply you during your stay with us : a solar shower bag, a compost bucket toilet with compostable bags, hand sanitizer and a food scrap bucket w/ lid (food scraps only please) we have a compost area where you can discard the food waste on property . Currently we ask you follow the “carry in carry out”policy with trash. We can’t wait to meet you! And someone is usually here 23/7 to help you with whatever you might need. You won’t regret stopping by Wonderlost regardless of if it’s last minute 1 night pass through, or a week long stay.Beautifully situated at one of the top lots the top of our property where you can enjoy the green grass, flowers , view of the entire property and green mountains. This site is suitable for an RV or camper as it is on flat ground and easily accessible.

Upper camp site 1
We used Nicole’s camper RV as our shelter for the night and it’s very comfortable. Extra blankets and a bed made for a good nights sleep. Also Nicole’s generosity made for a very welcome vibe. Thank you Nicole!

10/10
I spent one night at site 1 on 11/10. After arriving Chris came up and made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I stayed in the cozy RV they have as there weren't any other people renting. The RV had all the accomodations I was missing, like a pot to cook water, utensils, blankets etc. I later met Nicole who was kind enough to give me a meal. I was able to have a fire for the night with wood from the property (at no cost to me). They are super friendly and welcoming people, hosting in a safe and comfortable place. I would definitely recommend!

Convenient, safe, quiet, homey!
Best thing was arriving (with very clear directions) to dry firewood and kindling, and she even set up some egg cartons in the fire pit which was just so considerate. There were also a few emergency supplies in the camper that we didn’t use, but so thoughtful. It’s a great midpoint for traveling VT and close to the village of Brandon. Felt very comfortable. Thanks Nicole!

It felt like home away from home <3
The upper camp site was fantastic! It was super easy to get in and out of, even though I was coming and going at odd times. I was set up with a single tent, however there was plenty of room for multiple tents, or even a camper. For those more nervous about wildlife coming around at night, this site was perfect, thanks to it's resident livestock guardian dog Odin. He is absolutely adorable and would even come hang out with me while I was sitting at the fire (asking for belly rubs of course). Nicole was the most amazing host. I came back to camp a few nights after dark to find she had started a fire for me so that I had hot embers for dinner and drying out my gear after my hikes! If you love antiques or are looking for local tips and recommendations, you'll love chatting with her. Her suggestions were incredibly helpful! Wonderlost Homestead is just off highway 7 (maybe 2 mins), so it was super easy to find my way around and get out onto the highway for my day trips into the mountains. Nicole also does some drying and preserving, as well as picking fresh veggies from her gardens that are absolutely delicious. The fresh zucchini was amazing and the jerky was the best I've ever had! By the time I left, it really felt like home away from home. I will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again.

Nicole accommodated a last minute request to camp on her site. It was a safe place to stay right in the Brandon, VT area. She was very kind and offered hot water and firewood, too.
