A nice slice of vt!
Pasture Views was the perfect spot to stay on our way back from Smuggs to NYC. We arrived in the evening and were met by Rupert’s welcoming father and a well kept campsite! It rained the one night we stayed, but the yurt provided a dry, well lit, acoustically relaxing environment. The cows were a serious added bonus and although the shower wasn’t work due to a low well, we look forward to coming back and showering with the epic views! Oh! And we got the pleasure of throwing a few drinks back and enjoying dogs at babes bar!! A must visit.
Poorly cleaned/taken cared of
Kitchen was not cleaned, grill was full with grease/fat, sheets in tent were damp, lights did not work as shown in pictures. Tried contacting host to help with lights but no answer. Absolutely not worth $150...
Perfect place to stay in the summer — thoughtfully set up campsite with nearly all of the essentials (though no bathroom, as mentioned in the listing), and gorgeous view!
We did have some trouble finding the place — the directions first mention a graveyard and then a red house/yellow car, but we encountered these things in the opposite order and got confused. Your best bet is to look for a small wooden sign on the west side of N Road that says “pasture views” and directs you to drive down a car-width path of mowed grass that heads west (down the grass-covered hill away from N Road).
My wife & I had to book this place last minute after our stargazzing event was cancelled due to weather. When we got there it was nothing like the picture. The place had not been maintained at all. The furniture, the electric grill and the tipi were dusty and full of dust and bugs. The sink and the shower had no running water at all. All the plates, cups and cookware were also dusty and full of webs.
Inside the tipi, the mattress was surprisingly comfortable but its a little warm in there. Make sure u bring your own linen.
In all fairness to the owner, we booked this last minute and it just happened to be on the same day as his daughters wedding which was nearby. If it were me, i probably would have not scheduled any bookings for that day but everyones situatuon is different.
The place itself was nice but ALOT of bugs ,(as expected near water). Very peaceful and a gorgeous star filled sky at night.
When this place is well maitained im sure its a great place to stay but unfortunately for us the timing for staying at this place was all wrong.
Beautiful private site on cow farm!
A serene location with beautiful views, convenient to their little farm stand where I could buy nice dry fire wood and ice. The highlight of this stay was the cows!! They came right up the the campsite which made for hours of entertainment, and some of the little ones even surprised me in the morning at the campsite.
Relaxing, beautiful, authentic.
This is a lovely camp. Beautifully arranged without a bit of plastic-wood, metal, flowers. Authentic simple, real. Wonderful view of the mountains. It also gives people a chance to experience a working family farm. James was very kind and helpful. No cell coverage at tent offers a chance to see what happens when fully unpluged. (There is wifi at the farm store for the fully addicted. ) Killdeer and Woodcock abound, and coyotes sing.
