Private fishing right off the property steps from the cabin. You can float tube, fish, SUP, canoe etc. There are watercraft rentals available at Yuba Lake an Marina with RV dump available. Miles and miles of ATV trails in the area. An hour away is the Little Sahara Dunes. This is in a desert setting, where there can be critters, to include rabbits, lizards, spiders, flies and various other wildlife. This is more like camping with some nicer creature comforts like beds, blankets, wood burning stove etc. but not the complete comfort of a hotel. This is more like a state campground cabin. But with a few more amenities.

This little cabin was the perfect weekend getaway out of the City! Karen provided easy instructions to get there and was super responsive throughout the whole process. Place was clean and had everything you'd need. Loved the close proximity to Yuba Lake! Such a fun time and would recommend to anyone!
If you are looking for a secluded, cute off the grid cabin, then this is definitely for you. It has two lofts plus a bed on the ground floor. There is a nice little spot to take a shower and take care of other personal stuff. The fans really keep the place nice and cold at night. You are also in the perfect spot to fish and stargaze. It was all around a very nice place for my little family.
Can’t wait to come back!!
Absolutely had the best time ever! River entry is a lil sketchy… I think this is due to the water level currently. Power pod was amazing, bring extra butane canisters, we ran out. Bring lots of water. Also keep in mind you are about 30 mins away from the nearest gas station, so it’s a bit of a jaunt if you forget something. Also there are people around. Will definitely be coming back!!
We booked for the minimum two nights, but only stayed one. We are a family of six, so to find a place that has shelter, mattresses/bedding, and cooking supplies really helps simplify the packing for a short “camping” trip. This place was great for all those reasons. I’m a northwest girl, so I missed the trees/forest and shade I usually look to camp in, but we enjoyed hopping all n the River to cool off. We read other reviews that they caught fish and crawdads, so we brought stuff for fishing and catching crawdads. We had fun trying, but didn’t have any luck catching anything.
Things to note. There are two lofts. One on each side with two twin sized foam mattresses on each side, but we didn’t note the telescoping ladder till after our night and didn’t want to try moving the heavy wood ladder to the one loft, so three of my kids shared one loft space, one slept on the fold out, and my husband and I shared the queen mattress (really also a futon) on the floor level. There were boxes in the shower and and we never tried using that except as a privacy spot for changing. The toilet is just a small port of potty that sat out in the open, and there were no instructions for how to use or if/how to dump it, so we just used the bush. The sink just goes back not a black water collector. The host provided some water. We brought more. There were pots and pans, utensils, a small set of silverware and knives, hand sanitizer and dish soap. Great lights and fans that worked on the solar power. Because there was a fire ban we used the outdoor propane grill and the butane grills to boil water. I was surprised to not find any grill tools- so bring your own if you plan to grill.
Overall a great stopping place. I could tell the host is a little gun- shy about guests taking care of the place. We did our best to respect the space and rules and pack out our garbage (bring your own garbage bags and disinfectant wipes) in hopes that this host and others will continue to make spaces like this available for use.
Had a great stay at this cabin! We had a great time floating the Sevier river and caught lots of carp and a single catfish. Karen was a great host and even let us check in a few hours early. We'll definitely be back!
Kids are already begging to go back
This was the perfect little get away for our family the kids are already begging to go back. The cabin was clean and cute the girls loved sleeping in a loft . Only down was the bathroom situation. But all in all we had a great time and would definitely go back.
