A Texas Hill Country ranch with uncrowded “primitive” campsites about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife.This is an uncrowded “primitive” campsite on a ranch out in the country about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. Lovely place to stay for a day or evening beautiful property nice place to camp toilet was very clean they even had wood waiting for us when we arrived. Enjoyed seeing the armadillo at night! I had never seen one before.

Tent camping near Enchanted Rock
We loved tent camping at Starlit Flat! The setup was perfect for campers, and we really loved the amount of open space adjacent to the campsite for our kiddos to play. We were able to use the fire ring once the wind died down in the evening and the site provided plenty of firewood, including deadfall from the grove of trees in the surrounding area. The stars did not disappoint! The portable toilet available was very close to the site and freshly cleaned/emptied. There were deer in the clearing when we arrived, and the owners' two mules grazed in the pasture next to us. They even graced us with their presence right in our campsite as we were packing up to leave. We enjoyed seeing them as well as hearing other animals on the ranch. Only 20 minutes from Enchanted Rock and 15 minutes into town. We had a great stay and would love to camp here again.

Fantastic spot near Enchanted Rock
We loved this spot on Bill’s ranch - starlit is an accurate description! The site itself is very secluded and private with beautiful large trees and plenty of space. We had everything we needed with grills (fire and charcoal) and provided firewood. It’s very close to Fredericksburg and more importantly for us Enchanted Rock which we were able to visit easily. We will definitely be back!
