If you are looking for a place that is remote and wide open without hardly anybody around, this is it. It is typical North Texas landscape - arid and windy.
Great views, hiking, and camping
We were the only people there! Wonderful (primitive) campsite with beautiful views! Hiked from Eagle Point to the bottom of the canyon, up the canyon to the Drop, over the Drop through the notch, then overland and on camp point road back to Eagle Point. Absolutely beautiful and pristine land and views. Saw deer and lots of birds. Absolutely loved it and recommend highly if you are a disperse camping fan like we are.
We loved our stay at MERUS Adventure Park. The opportunity to camp that close to the canyon, with those views? Are you kidding me? Incredible! The off-roading experience was great too. Next time, we'll try mountain biking as we didn't have enough time. Overall, I had a nice time and would stay again. Oh, and I have Verizon and had two bars of service for those wondering.
Had a great time at Merus! Note for anyone who is brand new to RVing, the road getting in is a bit rough. We made it but be prepared to drive slow to avoid the craggy edges. Once inside the park, the instructions of where to park were left for me at the front office as I arrived after hours. It was extremely windy for my first night boon docking but exhilarating non the less. The night sky was incredible and I can't wait to come back. Thank you Dirk and team for providing an incredible space!
Great place for peace and relaxatio
