This listing is ALMOST an exact duplicate of our main listing and was created for those wanting to camp with a large group. We have built seven large campsites that can accommodate up to twelve people, three tents, four vehicles, or 1-2 RVs. This listing is ONLY to book those campsites, as the price is higher than our other camp sites, but less than if you paid for extra people. If you have six or less in your party, you may want to just book one of the "regular" sites.
Many campers book here because they could not get a site IN the National park. That is fine, but we really are a destination spot on our own and we urge you to give our campground a try! You WILL return again!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do NOT try to come here using a map program or GPS unit!!! These will route you down non-existent or impassable roads & we cannot pull you out if you get stuck! Just write us and we will send you safe, detailed directions down easily traversed roads. You may phone as well, but we don't always receive voice mail promptly.
This is a 100% off-grid working poultry/goat/aquaponics ranch! We usually have fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables and even poultry meat available for you to purchase. We also have blocks of ice available for your cooler.
For a complete, up-to-date description of our campground & ranch, please go to the "Eco-Ranch Sustainable Living Center" listing...… but do reserve this large site on the page!

Robert and his wife were wonderful - helpful, kind, and attentive to our needs without being overwhelming in the presence at all. We all adored them. The group campsite was quite small for a group site. We were meant to have 5 people and ended up with only 3, which workednjust fine but 5 wouldn’t have been possible. It was nice to have a flushing toilet and they kept us supplied with drinking water. The kitchenette wasn’t very usable, as unwashed dishes were stacked on the surfaces. The location was a further drive from Big Bend than a lot of other sites - upside being that it was very peaceful out there and felt quite secluded. There are geese, chickens, turkeys, and donkeys that live there. The animals were loud at times but we thought they were charming. Overall, location, lack of access to the kitchen, and small size of the campsite were the biggest downsides. Our very kind hosts, the stars and seclusion, and the animals were great upsides.
Waking up to roosters ain't so bad
Robert & Debbie were absolutely wonderful. I love the vibe that they have created on their sustainable ranch and waking up to roosters crowing really added a delightful touch to the trip! We stayed at the large group camp which was just a tad bit further away from the bathroom & kitchen. It was a bit of a longer hike, but definitely do-able and provided the private space we were looking for. My one recommendation is to pack your lunch and everything you need for the day when you head out to explore Big Bend or any of the surrounding areas because driving out and then back to the campsite and back out is a trek (as with everything out in West Texas)!
Roberts place was perfect if you want views and amenities . We drove a pretty rough road to get back there but we didn’t text Robert before so make sure you do the correct road is smoother than the one google maps takes you. We used the kitchen to make dinner and outlet use. There is not one bad site.
Stayed in group site closest to restrooms and kitchen. Great spot. Gravel road, but our minivan made it to the site. We loved the wifi access, signal was strong around the house. Robert is a great guy, always available and kudos to him for maintaining the place.

Robert and Debbie have created and continue to create a sweet spot for learning about sustainability, resting peacefully in West Texas breezes during the day and under a blanket of starts at night. The farm was a bonus as was the shower, bathroom and outdoor kitchen. This spot was PERFECT for a socially distanced Thanksgiving with family, we look forward to returning.
Peaceful stay with the family. Sunsets and sunrises were special. Great hub/jump off spot to national park as well.
Robert makes you feel very welcomed. From the time you get there, he guides you to your site and tell you what options available to you at the time. Flushing toilets and hot showers were the deal maker, but everything of this site is really nice. You're camping on the desert with many commodities. Definitely would use Eco-Ranch camp again.

This camper tried to use OUR personal kitchen which is outdoors next to our home and 100 yards from the campground bath house/kitchen, which was clean and usable at that time. We informed her of this and do not understand her continued confusion. The new bath house & kitchen are completed now. There are two flush toilets, a shower with solar hot water and a full kitchen. Not sure how to enlarge the camp site, it is already 70'x70' with a 150' driveway that can be utilized, as well as over 4000 square feet of space that is around the manicured site. We think it is a bargain for what is offered.
