At the Confluence of the Mighty Llano River and the Majestic James River lies something completely unexpected - an undiscovered gem in the Texas hill country. The Dos Rios. We have over 19.3 acres of hill country beauty to explore. Take a casual dip in the mighty Llano River, or take the plunge off of 20-foot red rock cliffs into deep cool water. Kayak, canoe, swim, visit the Eckart Bat Cave, or take a scenic drive down the gorgeous James River Road (a winding gravel road that goes over several low water crossings on the crystal clear James River). Enjoy the island in front of the property, with its beaches and multiple access points to swimming holes. We also have camping, a tiny home and a fully renovated vintage airstream available (see other Hipcamp listings). We also rent kayaks and canoes! www.dosriosrvpark.com

Site 11 - Dos Rios Camping
Good campsite, plenty of room for a couple tents and hammocks. Campsites are a bit close together and there wasn’t a lot of space for parking so I wouldn’t bring more than one or two vehicles. All around good experience here though.

Site 12 - Dos Rios Camping
Not as advertised, still fun!
The tent sites are relatively close to the river and have decent scenery. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with the proximity of tent campsites. There were three other campsites immediately in our line of sight, leading to minimal privacy. Our campsite neighbors were respectful, but we could hear their conversations late into the night. There is no cell service or WiFi at this location, despite advertising WiFi. Additionally, the campsite you reserve on HipCamp is irrelevant; tent sites are first come first serve. Finding the location of your tent site, the bath house, and way to the river is also very difficult. There are few signs and no map available.

Great place to camp
Loved the kindness of the host, we got to enjoy nature with all the connections for the RV, and area for doing our barbecue, but as we wanted, with our privacy from other campers, surrounded by nature.

Few hazards, but really nice area
First the down sides and things to watch or for: steep hill covered in thorny bushes. My dog got stuck down there exploring the area and I got scratched up getting him back up. There were a few fire ant hills. I got bit a few times, we had to moved things around or camp site to avoid them. Given enough distance and respect, they didn't bother us. Right next to a road. Anyone going down there at night or morning woke us up. Now the good stuff! 2 minutes away from jumping into the water. The water was chilly, deep, and there's little fishes. Bathrooms with showers, friendly staff, neighbors were cool too. I'll definitely like to come back. Happy to leave a better review if there's no ants when we rent the area next time. We had a nice area abandoned because of those ants. Some maintenance on the overgrowth would be nice, but honestly if it gets any worse, it might help prevent anything from going down there, or the opposite, it would be extremely difficult getting your dog back up if it got stuck like mine. Maybe a small fence?

Tiny Home 11
Incredible place to stay, the llano river in its clean and beautiful natural state is my favorite camp spot in Texas. This is my second time staying here with Dos Rios and it will not be my last. This time I stayed in tiny lodge #11 and it has every necessity you could ask for, plus these folks are extremely dog friendly and the price is right!
