Total Eclipse
We stayed on Joe and Deb's land to be proximate to the total eclipse. There ranch land is GORGEOUS. Especially when we stayed in early April: everything was in bloom!
Joe and Deb were friendly and gracious hosts. We were shown to a parcel that was private and made us feel like were were the only living souls in hill country. If we could have, we truly would have loved to have stayed longer.

This camp is up on a bluff with a 360 view. Perfect for astrophotographers and sky watchers!

Great place to stay!
Deb and her husband are very friendly and trustworthy. They have lots of land that's perfect for pitching a tent on, and they gave me plenty of flexibility in choosing a site. They left me alone (I wanted to go to bed early), but it seemed like if I wanted to hang out and talk or meet their goats, they would have done that too. They said I was free to wander their land while I stayed, and I took a nice short walk. And they were right about the beautiful dark sky for stargazing. Oh, and their place was accessible without 4-wheel drive or high clearance -- the dirt road was in excellent shape.
