The weather is perfect this time of year. There are few bugs out with temps in the 70s during the day and 60s after dark. We have some hog traps set up down by the creek and hope to have fresh pork soon. The honeysuckle and azaleas are blooming along with the clover, which means we will soon be harvesting honey from our hives.

There are several acres of pasture surrounded by pines and hardwood trees. Martin Dies, Jr. State Park is less than 24 miles north and there are several trails in the area for hiking in the Big Thicket. Fishing is available at the State Park
There are approximately 1/4 mile of trails around the property and along the creek that runs along the southern border. You can also wander further down the dirt road. Precautions will be necessary during September through December when wandering off the road as the property is surrounded by a hunt club.
In 2022, we have added an outhouse for guest use. Guests need to provide their own toiletries and reading materials.
You will often see a variety of wildlife such as squirrels, deer, wild hogs, bobcat, along with a variety of snake species both poisonous (several different rattle snakes, water moccasins, and coral snakes) as well as some beautiful king snakes and rat snakes. There are also a pair of red tail hawks living in the area, owls, bats, and woodpeckers.
These campsites are dry-camping and boondocking only so please come prepared (generators are allowed). There is plenty of room for recreation like corn hull, frisbee and even practicing your golf drive. Hanging a hammock is also encouraged. Don't forget to bring your fur babies. There are no leash laws here but we do ask that your pet be kept under control.
If you plan on staying in the area for a few days you can also enjoy a canoe trip in Village Mills located approximately 30 minutes south. If you have your own canoe or kayak there is no charge and pets are welcome. There are also a couple of places that rent boats and provide shuttle service.

This is our second outing on Tamara's slice of heaven. Obviously if we didn't love it we wouldn't have come back. She is quick to communicate and very nice. The property is great and has a great camping area with plenty of room for several campsites/friends, and it's all hidden just behind some trees.
Nice place! Hosts were responsive and kind. Simple but everything you need for a road trip camping stop. The stars and the quiet were lovely.
Great space, short cut grass field that boarders a long tree line to camp along. They have a couple fire rings and an outhouse. Private, quite, a great place to spend the night.
Tamara was so welcoming and kind! Her property was beautiful and we had a wonderful spot close to the trees where we could see the stars. I would definitely go again!
My son and I were chased out of our campsite at Village Creek. In a desperate attempt to save the weekend, I made a SUPER last minute booking. I booked around 7pm and arrived at 7:40. Tamara was more than attentivr and prepared for me regardless. She and her delighful gentleman of a dog greeted us and directed us to a beautiful well kept open field and told me to pitch my tent anywhere.
It was a lovely area. The mosquitoes were minimal, the grass flies were expected but not too bothersome. We were able to grab one of the fire rings they have on site and make a fire. There were dozens of fireflies at dusk. It was great!
We heard some deer checking us out in the middle of the night and I am sure the birdwatching here would be amazing. There are a couple hiking trails and plenty of neat little places to explore all over the property.

Property was peaceful and clean. Fire rings and ability to gather wood is a huge plus. Host was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the walking trails and wildlife.

So glad you had a pleasant stay. Hope to see you again.
Friendly Host, quite place, great for the dogs to stretch their legs. Can see the stars in the sky. Perfect for our teardrop camper.

We were driving through from CO to FL in our teardrop camper, . One mile off the road very secluded and quit. Full moon was fantastic. Great spot to stop and sleep for the night. Tamara was a great host.

A wonderful place to stay. Hosts were very friendly and the property was open and spacious. We had no cell service (T-Mobile), but that ended up being a plus. Would diffenetly visit again.

Diane, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Cell service is mostly Verizon but AT&T moved in late last year, so there's hope for T-Mobile. Hope to see you again. Safe travels.
