This place was beautiful and clean! The host was wonderful and accommodating and even led us down to the sites since we had never been here before. (Its about a mile and half from the entry) We were lucky to not have any neighbors this weekend, but can say 5 is great for hammock campers like ourselves. It is also closest to the bathroom which was also clean as well.

It was a busy holiday weekend so there were a ton of boats, but it was fun to watch them go by and they were far enough away from the shoreline that we could still swim safely.

We have T-Mobile so I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not, but we had no signal whatsoever. We lost it about 30 minutes before even getting to the property, which speaks to how far away from the city you'll be. To us it was no problem as we like being out of reach and away from it all, just be prepared ahead of time and enjoy the solitude!

Tony and his team could not have been more wonderful. The campsite was clean and well-maintained. We rented kayaks and had the best time getting out on the water. We did have to take the hatchet to a copperhead one evening, but that's part of camping in the wild. Don't be dismayed--Tony has a fantastic operation and is readily available for anything you might need!

The site and surrounding property on the river are ideal for camping and our two young children had ball chasing grasshoppers and tiny frogs. We did a lazy float down the river starting at the top of the property and when we took out we had not reached the end of it. Great place for families.

We spent a 2 night weekend at tent site #4 (there are 5 tent sites). Bee Mountain is a huge, beautiful area right on the river bank and across from a rock bluff. You definitely feel like you are out away from it all, because you are. No houses or road noise, only the occasional motorboat during the day. At night you can listen to the breeze and all of the night creatures. Cell service was bad (which is fine cause you’re camping) and you are a good 15-20 minutes from a convenience store.
There are 5 tent sites at the end of the dirt road the runs through the camp. The 5 sites are quite large and go from the riverbank in the front to a small hill in the back. The sites vary in length but it looks like sites 2-4 are the largest. The dirt access road splits the sites but is only travelled by your tent camping neighbors so it isn’t heavily used.
Each site has a nice stone fire pit and grill on the riverside. The view is beautiful. When we were there is was windy and rainy for one night. The only place there was standing water was on the dirt/gravel road running through the campground but our minivan made it through easily. There was only a little standing water in the tent area from the rain but it dried up quickly.
When we stayed all 5 sites were full and one site had quite a few folks partying. They were never any trouble and we could barely hear them at night but something to be aware of. You aren’t on top of people but you will be well within earshot and sight of your neighbors.
We also bought a load of firewood which was enough to give us two good evening fires with enough leftover for a third fire.
The restrooms are closest to the campsite 5, which is the first one you come to. However, they are not noisy or disruptive and people won’t be walking right through your camp to get to them.
We took part of a day and went to Dinosaur Valley State Park which was about 45mins away. It’s a nice, peaceful drive though the hills.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend it.

Staying at Bee Mountain River Camp was an excellent experience. My group was placed at Site 5. The sites are large and spacious (we fit 3 tents / 6 people easily) and are equipped with a charcoal grill, fire pit, and picnic table. Direct access to the river was wonderful, and we enjoyed swimming and sitting on the beach. The bathrooms were clean and the flushable toilets were a huge plus. The available kayaks and paddle boards were a big reason we chose this location, and they did not disappoint! NOTE: You have to reserve the kayaks and paddle boards in advance with the host (there are 4 kayaks and 2 paddle board/kayak hybrids). The river was a joy to explore, and we appreciated being able to unplug from our phones. All of us greatly enjoyed our stay! Thank you to the Bee Mountain Ranch team

The Bee Mountain River Camp was beyond our expectations. The beautiful sites outside of our camping area were breathtaking. Plenty of room for us to camp out in our tents. The restrooms are always clean and easy to get to. It’s not too far from dinosaur park in Glen Rose which is a bonus! Our kids enjoyed playing in the sand by the river banks.

Really great campsite - 6 tent spots next to each other but each one with plenty of space to spread out - much more open than I am used to with state park camping. Beautiful vista across the river with brids circling over the cliffs, a great place to go relax and let the dogs swim and run around! Would (and likely will) go back.
