Great spot, very remote with nice amenities for such a remote spot. Would stay there again! Our dogs had the time of their lives!
The view is fantastic and everything was great. The campsite is far away from noise and lights and you can enjoy the time very much. We definitly come again.

We loved the seclusion and the amazing views at Area 9. It’s a great place to view the desert sunrise, sunset, and tons of stars.
Officially one of my favorite spots! It's truly in the middle of no where-- Excellent views of the sunset and stars. So many fun/weird things to find. Loved the complete silence. Will be back!
In the directions it says 7 miles from Terlingua, so we thought that meant 7 miles from the Terlingua Ranch Rd/ 118 N intersection, but on another graphic it says 35 miles from the Terlingua Ghost Town, so we went off that, and the directions were on point after that.

My family of 5 camped here for the past week and LOVED it! Jody’s place is amazing and truly enhanced our Big Bend area experience. The views are incredible for stargazing, sunrises and sunsets! The table, chairs (there are now about 5 metal chairs, in addition to the blue ones you see in the main picture), stools (2), side tables, fire pit, grill, buckets to fill with rocks to hold things down if it’s windy, multiple places to pitch a tent or park, and “outhouse” take remote camping up several notches, not to mention the cool art / decorations Jody has included. We were able to explore the Big Bend National and State parks for 4 days, and took a couple days to visit Terlingua Ghost Town, Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis and the Davis Mountains State Park - Area9 was centrally located.
The directions Jody gave were spot on, though I am grateful we heeded her advice and found it the first time in daylight. A couple nights got really windy, so I advise to make sure you have guylines packed and ready to use if needed. On the other nights we slept with the rainfly off and enjoyed sleeping under the stars (first week of November)! It was just magical.
My kids (ages 7, 6, and 4) loved exploring the land, playing with Jody’s props, and eating s’mores under the Milky Way. My husband and I enjoyed sharing coffee at sunrise, wine at sunset, and spending time imagining our own constellations with the kids. We all definitely recommend Area9 if you’re wanting solitude and beauty!

Great site. Easy to find with amazing views. There was a house within site that you don't see on the pictures but it was far enough away to not notice. Site has lots of room and amazing sunrise/sunset views.
Unfortunately the first 3 days brought lots of rain and one of the most impressive lightning storms I have ever seen.
The site seems to always be windy due to it's location so plan for that.
Will definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Area 9 was absolutely incredible. We wanted a secluded spot with beautiful scenery during our 9 day visit to the region and that is exactly what we got. The little touches were incredible like the chairs to relax in while watching the sun rise over the mesa. It was well worth the drive back and forth to the parks for us in exchange for the peace and quiet we received.
Second time staying here. Hopefully, more to come! Thanks for making it available to the rest of us!

Very nice area about halfway between Alpine and Terlingua. Was a reasonable drive from Big Bend. The area was gorgeous and had plenty of room for all of us to stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

I'm so happy you enjoyed it! The starry nights and seclusion sealed the deal for me, and I love sharing it with others. Thank you!
