The Farm Restoration

Our purchase of the farm in 2015 began the process of restoringthe farm to its former glory. In partnership with the Natural ResourceConservation Agency we embarked on a journey to bring biodiversity and balanceback to the farm. We are working on meadow restoration, reducing invasivespecies, creating habitat to repopulate bob white quail and wild turkey.

Guests can enjoy the peace and quiet, wander the trails, visit the Nigerian dwarf dairy goat herd, watch our beautiful Texas Longhorns as they browse or see the black buck, Mouflon and Barbado sheep relaxing in the meadow. Wildlife viewing stands are available for those who would like to sit and observe our flora and fauna.

Come walk the Labyrinth located near the main farmhouse.

All species living together in nature restoratively

to CULTIVATE thriving biodiverse habitats, BECAUSE we live here.

to LEARN from the regenerative nature of flora and fauna.

to SHARE the responsibility to care for one another.

to GROW our deep appreciation for the beauty of this Earth.

We are located at the far end of a sandy stretch of road, completely private. The 67 acres are completely enclosed  and gated, soyou can't get lost for too long, as you wander the well maintained trails thatmeander through the forests and meadows on the farm.

We ask that campers park their cars just inside the gate andcamp within "range" of a new cedar outhouse with composting toilet, locatedin the southwest corner of the property (close to the front gate). The entireacreage is open to exploring and there is a small pond (great for dog swimmingonly). Along with outdoor composting toilet. There is potable wateravailable in campground. Please pack in/pack out your belongings and all trash. We welcome your ideas and shared vision. It's very Natural out here . . .

We went out to Ardor Wood Farm mid-afternoon and got ourselves acquainted with the glamping tent and property. I will tell you, it was pretty nice to not have to set up and break down camp for a change. The tent has a queen size bed, full bug protection, a dresser, and chair. There is no running water, so make sure to bring plenty of your own. There is a small, clean, outhouse available down the trail near the tent spots.

We spent the afternoon exploring the property, looking at the baby goats, and hammock relaxing among the trees. When it cooled down at night, we played Yahtzee on the porch and just relaxed. There isn't much to do around the area beside hang out, play cards, read and relax. The walking/hiking trails are fairly simple trails with some bird watching. There is a small pond that is good for dogs, wouldn't recommend for humans. So I would definitely recommend the area if you're just looking to get away from Austin and have a simple night under the stars.

My stay at Glamping Glen was so lovely! It was perfect for me and my dog, Reggie. Graham and Karen gave great directions to the place - they greeted me upon arrival and couldn't have been more sweet. The campsite is maybe 100 yards away from the parking lot, so they provide a little red wagon to cart your things. Walking up to the tent is like a dream - it looks exactly as pictured! There is a bed, rocking chair, side tables, wardrobe, pitcher of water, a bowl/mirror, a swinging bench and table for the porch. And thank goodness for the mosquito net to shield from bugs! The fire pit comes with firewood provided and is about 50' away from your comfortable set up. The place is clean and well kept, with a compost toilet just a short walk away :) You are separated from some other hipcamp sites by some forest and trails. I ended up making a couple new friends for the night as we sat around the fire, told stories, and made s'mores.

The grounds are extensive - plenty of trails to explore! We discovered chickens, goats (babies too!), a garden, we even saw their bee apiary from a distance. Reggie took a dip in a cool quiet pond and chased around some deer that we saw. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It really is a little slice of Texas heaven!

Great setup! Really enjoyed our stay inside the tent, on the patio, in our hammocks, walking the trails, and sitting around the campfire. We could hear the family in the nearby site which took away from our peaceful morning once they arrived so know that you're not completely secluded or alone. However, I love the multiple sites that are available and it only makes me want to bring more friends with us next time. Our two dogs, with limited camping experience, LOVED it too and there was enough for them to explore safely. We'll definitely be back!

Hosts are wonderful, warm and welcoming. Lots of space to roam. Goats and chickens are fun for the kids. We even bought farm fresh eggs from the host for making breakfast tacos. We explored the property and watched the host’s Australian Shephard climb a tree. Never seen a dog do that before. It was the perfect unwind and we even stayed an extra night, 3 nights total in the glamping tent.
