Peaceful night sleep
The Peaceful Hills Waterfall campsite was great! It was quite peaceful. We enjoyed our night stay. There is a nice creek that is just in front of the site with swimming holes close by. It was nice to cool down before turning in. It was a nice stroll up to the playground for our child to unwind and stretch the legs. There were very few bugs except for the lightning bugs. The most I’ve seen in quite some time. This was a great place to just unwind. The site was very welcoming with all the essentials needed to help make your stay more pleasant. I would recommend this. 10/10.
True to the name, was peaceful and quiet. Heard a motorcycle only twice. Spot was shaded completely so the heat was not a problem. Sounds of the water were relaxing. There’s a table with 4 chairs and a trash can. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. I have t mobile and didn’t have service so know that. I had it up until 5 minutes before arriving.
The site was beautiful. We had our own waterfall and creek. However, the site itself was nothing but mud. No grass, no mulch, and the gravel area (where we parked our trailer) was the type of big rocks gravel that if you put anything down on it, you can feel all the big rocks. There was a porta potty there… omg… the last time I saw a porta john that full of [email protected] I was in the Army in a long field exercise… wow! Needless to say, we DID NOT use it. Memorial Day weekend is BIG for camping. Preparing the site and getting the porta john cleaned up should have been done. It was a nice site, a stone throw away from a gorgeous creek you can enjoy with your kids and pets. The cabin areas that are for rent are very well kept and it’s absolutely gorgeous… sadly, you can tell that the campsite itself comes as an afterthought. They had firewood for the campground… BUT… the firewood itself was in a pile of mud, uncovered and completely soaked… really? The website said there was a place to wash dishes…. i am sure there was… somewhere. There was absolutely nobody around to ask. So, we did what we had to do to wash dishes. It’s ok for us, we had a trailer. We had planned on staying there 3 nights… but after dealing with nothing but mud and unable to use the john (there was absolutely nowhere to go in nature either!) we left a day early. A little more care to the site itself would go a long way! Again the area around is beautiful. But not a site we will revisit.
Whippoorwills and waterfall
Falling asleep listening to the whippoorwills and waterfall was so restful. Jennifer and Timothy checked on us after we had set up and I was so thrilled to get the fresh eggs....nothing better.
Beautiful scenery at peaceful hills
Absolutely loved Placefull Hills Waterfall Campsite. A little to close a 2 hour drive for us but it was well worth it. The campsite is nestled right next to your own personal waterfall. Great for the dogs and kids to play in right at the site. Love the seclusion and Jennifer went above and beyond to get us a stove since we had forgotten ours. Overall we would love to make this site one of our regulars for our camping season. Most definitely recommend.
Camping with a toddler
This place was so beautiful. Secluded yet walking distance to bigger creek and hike. The site has its own private small waterfall and creek! My 4-year-old LIVED inside the creek while we were there. We will def be coming back to this spot ☺️
Everything you could wish for!
This place was a little slice of heaven. Secluded enough but not completely in the middle of nowhere. The man made waterfall ads an amazing touch. I loved learning about the duck river from the cute box they had on site. Although the weather got the best of us and I wasn’t able to camp, it was quite lovely just me and my pup in nature.
