Falling asleep listening to the whippoorwills and waterfall was so restful. Jennifer and Timothy checked on us after we had set up and I was so thrilled to get the fresh eggs....nothing better.
Absolutely loved Placefull Hills Waterfall Campsite. A little to close a 2 hour drive for us but it was well worth it. The campsite is nestled right next to your own personal waterfall. Great for the dogs and kids to play in right at the site. Love the seclusion and Jennifer went above and beyond to get us a stove since we had forgotten ours. Overall we would love to make this site one of our regulars for our camping season. Most definitely recommend.

It was a great camp site with a natural running stream. Highly recommend. The directions were spot on. Super dog friendly
This place was so beautiful. Secluded yet walking distance to bigger creek and hike. The site has its own private small waterfall and creek! My 4-year-old LIVED inside the creek while we were there. We will def be coming back to this spot ☺️

This place was a little slice of heaven. Secluded enough but not completely in the middle of nowhere. The man made waterfall ads an amazing touch. I loved learning about the duck river from the cute box they had on site. Although the weather got the best of us and I wasn’t able to camp, it was quite lovely just me and my pup in nature.
The experience was very enjoyable and relaxing. The only thing that would've made it perfect was if there were hiking trails close by or near, but all in all we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back.

So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, Corin! Hiking trails are on the way very soon, but for now there is only a dirt road through the rest of the campground. If you hike past the three B&B homes, you will see a road going up the big hill on your left. If you hike all the way to the top of the ridge, you will get to a Y in the road at Eagle's Nest campsite. That marks a half mile from the Waterfall campsite. Walking back down to the Waterfall campsite will give you a full mile of good, peaceful hiking in the woods. I hope this helps! Thank you for taking excellent care of the campsite and for being super clean too. I appreciate you and welcome you back to Peaceful Hills anytime.
I hate to recommend this place to anyone because we don't want to share it. Wonderful Campsite!
The waterfall at night is amazing to fall asleep to. The Stars are great because there is no ambient light. Great river just across the road from the camp site to spend your days at or get some exercise and hike up to the top of the hill. Our dog loved this area as well and swimming down by the bridge at the swimming hole. She even included an outdoor metal table and chairs and your own port-a-potty which was very clean.

The Waterfall campsite was very peaceful and beautiful. The porta potty was even well stocked with “extras”.

I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay, Katharine! Glad you felt safe and yet had enough privacy too! The waterfall was actually here when we bought the land back in 2005. For years we wanted to have the spring water piped to the homes instead of well water. One day a friend of mine, who owns Fernwood Nursery, decided to get involved and help us. With his help, we added a large 1500 gallon holding tank to capture more water from the spring. When he went to pick up the potable water tank I had ordered, he told the owner of the store what he was doing and they donated a much larger potable water tank to us for free! The excavators I had hired had already started to dig a hole by the old spring house, but when my friend got here with the bigger tank, he explained that we will need a bigger hole and gravity flow is what we want. Walking much further down the hill, he found a spot and exclaimed, "Right here. Dig the hole right here." So they dug down as deep as they needed for the tank size and then a fascinating thing happened. The big backhoe tractor hit rock. Scraping it clean, this rock was completely flat, much like a foundation, and it was the exact size of the huge tank, and perfectly level to a quarter of an inch! We all were amazed. They didn't have to come back a second time to fill in dirt after it settled. It was finished. This tank now sits on a huge, flat, level rock. That was a miracle. Just one of many I could tell you about here at Peaceful Hills. Further up the stream you may have seen the small, old white spring house. My friend placed pipes underground which connect the old spring house to the larger holding tank above the campsite. Using gravity flow, the water quickly fills up the second tank. The overflow from the tank flows out of the pipe and into the small stream making the beautiful, peaceful, waterfall. I hope you have enjoyed my story and if you ever need some flowers, please go see my friend James at Fernwood. He never charged me a dime for all of his time here at Peaceful Hills. Hope you come again soon!
