Experience primitive camping on our 35 acres in the Smokies, offering the perfect setting for watching the solar eclipse, escaping the hustle and bustle, and disconnecting from the world. The serene atmosphere is as captivating as the surrounding hills, trees, and scenic vistas. As we embark on building our homestead and future retreat center on the property, tranquility reigns supreme with only the sounds of birds, rustling trees, and local wildlife. A creek gracefully traverses the length of the property, enhancing the natural allure. Bring your own tent and choose from several beautiful and secluded camping spots that we offer. While it's a bit of a hike from the parking area (approximately 1/4 mile), fear not, as we provide a convenient wagon to transport your belongings up the ridge. Please note that fires are not permitted at individual campsites at the moment, as we are still in the process of ensuring safety by adding gravel. However, each night of your stay, we invite our guests to gather around a cozy campfire shared in the pasture.Top of the Ridge 1 is a flat grassy space among the cedars. This is a favorite spot of the deer that graze here on top of the ridge. Guests will enjoy 1 acre to themselves, but please note there may be another group passing through the path to the far side of the site. (Though they may take a different route to get to their place.) Guests have access to a communal port-a-potty near the parking area. You'll park, then hike to your site. We do have a handy wagon you can use to haul your stuff. No campfires at the campsite. We'll have one nightly down by where you park. We're off-grid but do get decent cell reception most of the time. No hookups.
