Self Contained camping ONLY as no amenities onsite. Accessible by 2wd. Suitable for all forms of camping tents, motorhomes, vans, cars, buses etc. This site is shaded in the morning by 100 year old pine trees which also offer a nice place to sit beneath on warm Summer afternoons. No fires allowed at campsite but are allowed at our communal fire pit close by.

Spent 4 nights @thefarm cradle, a beautiful peaceful location with friendly cows, farm animals and scenic mountain views. This was a beautiful campground! Great open space next to a paddock of baby calves. Steve was very lovely and made sure everything was to our liking. The sunset was incredible. Close to the town centre.
Great host Steve showed us the setup and it was awesome to feed cows and goats etc, kids absolutely loved it. Level site with clean fresh grass, a great stay!
Easy and simple! We drove from Hobart and stayed here before a quick drive to Cradle Mountain the next morning. Saw an eastern quoll right outside camp. Great memories!

Magnificent property, lush grassy sites, plenty of sun to charge the solar panels with communal fire pit and firewood provided.
Steve & Shae are wonderful hosts, always up for a chat and go out of their way to make sure your stay is a fantastic one. Our 8yr old daughter loved feeding the animals including the chickens and goats & patting the baby cows. We had some car issues and they even offered to drive us into Sheffield in their car to get supplies!
Great location not far from Sheffield and close enough to Cradle Mountain for day trips. At $10pn, fantastic value.
Peaceful with a beautiful rural outlook. Perfectly situated if the reason for travel is for rowing at Lake Barrington (or just because)!!
Highly recommended this camp site. Close to cradle mountain and a beautiful quiet spot. Grassy relatively flat sites. Steve (the farmer introduced himself and was very friendly. We bought beautiful fresh eggs from him and they were the best. There is a communal fire there that we didn’t use but would have if we hadn’t walked cradle mountain that day. 🥱

We’ve been travelling around Tasmania for the past 6 weeks, and this was our favourite campsite of the whole trip. It was a great place to base ourselves to explore the North West and Cradle Mountain. The hosts, Steve and Shae, were so friendly, kind and helpful. The kids loved feeding the cows, goats and chickens, eating the fresh eggs and veggies and blackberry picking around the farm. The campsite itself is very flat and the size of each site is very generous. The scenery is beautiful and the place is so peaceful. We had the best time and would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
