Absolutely loved our stay! I had been looking at these cabins for a few months considering a trip to Congaree National Park. Although we did not travel with the dogs this trip, it's always a bonus when there is a dog-friendly option.
We were planning a girls weekend where a few of us could meet in the middle to travel equal distance. This was the spot! Seems like it was a slower season now so it was quiet, peaceful and private.
Enjoyed leaning back in our chairs and looking up through the trees at the stars during our campfire nights. The cabin was tidy and some informational guides left for us. The bonus of having the water spigot at our cabin was awesome for cleaning our dishes.
The entire property was SO.COOL. They had been decorating for a Halloween event as well so we appreciated the decor sprinkled around. This is only about an hour away and I intend to visit again soon!
It would be super neat to have a group go and rent a few of the cabins for the same weekend if all available.
I loved the area - especially the gorgeous trees - that the cabin is situated in. By chance, we were able to stay in a cabin with real mattresses - a major plus! Loved the picnic tables and fire pit w wood already stocked. That said, it *was* super rustic … we slept with bandanas over our faces because there were many bugs! Would be nice to have a fan… or advance suggestion from the hosts to bring one! We stayed in September, but there was no circulation and it was quite hot. Loved the picturesque walk to the bathrooms :) Also nice to have a shower after a long road trip…!
Simple cabin for our family
We had a quick and easy stay at the Rustic Cabin. We were driving from OBX to Destin and needed a place (not too far off the highway) to stop halfway. Alan provided us with excellent directions so we had no problems. The cabin was simple and exactly as pictured. We stayed at the end of July, so a ceiling fan would've been luxurious, but it cooled off by morning. Overall a great place to stay!
Beautiful property. Very peaceful with lots of trails and a 9 hole disc golf course. The cabins are basic but definitely an upgrade from tent camping. The only downside would be that the camping area is close to a pretty active road, so you do hear cars pass by. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend everyone checking this place out.
Perfect for group and personal even
Alan and SOAC was a perfect location for a group event we were holding. The facilities met our needs, the grounds were clean and well maintained. Alan went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed too. We had a fantastic time!
