Kookaburra Campsite ideal for caravans but 4WD essential to cross the causeway. Nice and secluded with good access to the creek for swimming.
Nice campsite however, the creek crossing was a bit of a challenge with our caravan due to the water level being up after recent rains and and had been concreted at some stage but now is just river rocks with a broken pipe half way across it. When we got to our site, there was another couple camped on it which was an honest mistake by them and we ended up sharing the site as there was someone else on there site.
We feel all of this confession could have been avoided if the host (Gary) was there and not away as advised by a neighbor or have someone there on his behalf as a caretaker. There was limited mobile phone coverage so I believe someone should have been onsite in the case of something going wrong.
The property was peaceful but could have had the mower go through it.
A little disappointing but we made the most it.
The property was absolutely beautiful, Gary’s instructions were helpful and he was also very welcoming to us. Would highly recommend!
We absolutely loved our stay at Kookaburra Hills. Great, wide-spread grassy sites and you wouldn’t even know anyone else was there! Walk by the stream was lovely, our dog loved it too. We can’t wait to come back.

Gary met us on arrival and the property and camp sites were lovely. The creek running along side the camp sites is a very pretty and relaxing environment. Sleeping at night to the gentle sounds of the water made for a nice connection with nature. Really enjoyed our stay and the host was very happy to chat about how they live the self sufficient life. Thanks for having us.
A warm welcome, peace and quiet, an idyllic setting and some great veggies! A great place to stay snd we will certainly be back.
The location was great! We stayed mid week so had no one else around, which we loved. At busy times you would have space depending on which site you choose and the size of your group. Loads of birds and the sound of running water from Kilcoy creek. Gary the host was awesome easy to chat with. We did leave a day early with bad weather approaching but we look forward to going back.
