Our property consists of 20 acres of the beautiful Blue Mountain. At the Lookout you can see for 40 Miles across the valley below. With views from Allentown, Lyons and Reading.  The area with the view is a shared area for both sites. Feel free to use the fire ring while you sit and watch the evening sky. It is breathtaking at night.

Our property is mostly the mountain side. But with an area that is flat for tent camping. The property is close to Route 309 but there is a camping area away from the road. Our land is next to the

National Parks land which also consists of the Appalachian Trail and also against the Pennsylvania Game Lands. You can walk up the street or trail to Thunderhead Lodge Restaurant. Leaser lake is a short drive if you like fishing or kayaking. The Wanamakers Store is a unique place to visit with amazing sandwiches. The Wanamakers and Kemton railroad is close by for a weekend train ride. Bear Rock Junction is close by for mini golf and ice cream. Eight Oaks Distillery is only a few minutes away. Several wineries and antique shops as well.

Site 1 is closer to the road and lookout. It can be noisy because it is rather close to the road. But it is also the easier of the sites to get to. You can drive right to this site. Please consider this when choosing your site.

Site 1 has a table, chairs, and sits just beneath the lookout. Large, flat area for tents. Secluded from site 2. Sits on a hillside (no danger though lol). Pretty decent view beyond the trees. I'd go back.

We stayed at site #2 and it was really lovely. Just private enough and at the same time close enough to the road where you don’t feel worried about wildlife.

Cannot emphasize how lovely the spot was. I hope Bernadette keeps this similarly priced as time goes on cause it was a blessing to my group to stay here.

Bernadette is very responsive and the kayak experience is awesome. Great site for camping with fire pit, chairs and table. The view we woke up to definitely made the trip even better.

The lookout was a great experience for my first time using hicamp. It’s a minute or two off of the Appalachian trail. Great view front he comunal fire pit. The owners were very friendly and responsive. The site was clean and had ample room for tents as well as trees for a hammock. The only downside is the noise from the highway but I thought ahead and brought some ear plugs. I’m looking forward to heading back here when they complete the hostel!

Thank you for your feedback. It is hard to explain the noise in my description and your review will help others.

The owners are welcome and care about their guests’ comfort. The location is convenient being feet’s away from the AT and a short 15 minutes away from a small quite lake for paddling. The lodge near by (at the top of the hill) has good food and seems to have live music on weekends. The camping spots are comfortable. If like me you camp in a trailer. Choose camp 1 and you may need 4wheel drive if it’s been raining a lot. The view of PA from the driveway is second to none!

Caveats: The campsites, especially #1 are close to a major thoroughfare and at the top of the hill on that road. Traffic is pretty consistent through the day and tractor trailers can be especially noisy if they use engine breaks. There is also a gun range somewhere below the land.

The lookout was fantastic! It is right off the AT and quite close to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. The views from the lookout were great and the host even had extra firewood for us for when our small bag ran out. Be prepared for a little noise from the road if you stay at site #1. Overall would totally recommend it!
