Three camp sites are all on eastern portion of property and all sites have privacy from others on this upper edge of 50+ acres. Breathe in fresh air, get out of blank city air. This is a great site to star gaze. There is an octagon picnic table, stone firepit, and a composting loo. As you walk from east to west on property it gets shadier and cooler. Please hike my pink trail. Plan an hour and a half. It will take you down hill on a wide trail to Red Bank Creek then along river edge then up through a hemlock forest. If you have a bike you can ride 50 miles on the Red Bank Creek rail trail to the Allegheny River. We are in "The Wilds" of Pa. with many state parks/forest and national forests as well. Have children check out Punxsutawney groundhog and rail trail there. They can also gather plentiful kindling from trees self pruning. ask for a map or download at home from their site. Take first day to hike on our property. kids can lead following pink dots. Kids will enjoy 1/2 way mark to play in creek, fish, or catch crayfish, then follow pink dots to right and up thru hemlock forest. We will let you know if any other guests are on the property. If you want to come earlier or come later in day, ask us. We try to be flexible. Go directly to your site. Just give us an ETA so we can check in with you and make sure you are all set. Please follow neighbor's posted signs and stay on our property. Always open and close gate behind you and relock. Woodsy private oasis
I loved this rustic wild site and wished I could have stayed longer to enjoy the whole homestead and some of the trails. Very private and spacious. Great fire pit and easy access to our personal (clean) creative looking outhouse. Super welcoming host who brought me duck eggs for my breakfast.
A beautiful spot for a long weekend
The Wildflower Meadow was the perfect location for us. We had labor day weekend plans fall through at the last minute, and we happened upon this spot while looking for a plan B. It could not have gone better. Linda stopped by our first night there to give us a lay of the land, and we were able to buy firewood from her. She was extremely helpful and gracious, and I would recommend staying here to anybody. Absolutely incredible night sky.
This campsite was set up nicely, directions were easy to follow. Nice and quiet too. I didn't meet Linda, but I met her co-host Judy and she was so nice and even asked if I wanted any duck eggs. She even gave my dog treats!
Ended up staying The the boondock site as it was more suited to my camper and truck. Considering it’s spring time the grass is soft and the wildflower meadow is all grass. I didn’t want to tear up the land. The property is beautiful we did the hiking trail marked by the pink paint docks. Would defineatly stay again.
Site was as described. Another site on the property was occupied first night but they were quiet and far enough that it wasn’t disturbing. Road noise could have been an issue given it’s proximity but there was really minimal traffic so really the site was quite peaceful. The ground was not totally flat but the slant was manageable. Directions seemed weird but made sense once we arrived. Definitely minimal amenities but that’s that’s what we wanted and expected from the posting. Great fall spot for us!
We'd stay at this site again. We camped in the wildflower meadow and it was a nice space to camp with accurate directions. We had 3 large tents and trucks and it was spacious enough for us. Clean and well maintained site with a large picnic table and designated fire ring. The site was was private but did have some road noise. Friendly host checked in to see if we needed anything but was unintrusive and maintained social distance. Clear and proactive communication ahead of our arrival.
