This cozy cabin is nestled next to a stream on our 35 acre farm. Make yourself at home in nature with 2 beds, a comfy pull-out couch, covered front porch and a reading desk and generous dining table. This small cabin is great for those wanting to experience nature and farm life with a little more comfort and amenities than tent-camping. We are a chemical-free farm and nursery. Our grazing livestock may be visible in nearby fields, as the cabin is situated in the midst of our small, diversified working farm.
Things to do nearby:
Yellow Creek State Park is located 7 miles down the road offering hiking, canoeing, swimming, fishing and much more!
The Ghost Town Trail is accessible via the Heshbon trailhead, just 5 miles down the road. A scenic biking and walking trail along the Blacklick Creek.
The quaint town of Indiana, PA is just a 15 minute drive from the cabin. A college town providing great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, breweries, and a farmers market.
Other nearby attractions include the historic town of Punxsutawney, the quaint Amish town of Smicksburg and the charming town of Ligonier.
Additional Things to Note:
The cabin is located at Nature Works Farm and Nursery, a small, diversified farm where we live and work. You can see our home from the cabin and will most likely see us out and about. We will give you the most privacy as we possibly can, but we are also open to interacting with you if you'd like to learn about and tour the farm. One hour informational tours are available upon request for an additional fee. We have cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that are mostly in fenced pastures, however, the chickens and ducks tend to wander where ever they'd like :)
From April-July, our greenhouses are open to the public as a retail plant nursery, so expect to see and hear cars and people coming and going from our main parking lot, located about 100 yards uphill from the cabin. Additionally, the cabin is situated about 200 yards from the main road, so car and truck traffic can be heard.
A private composting toilet is located just outside the cabin. Sawdust is provided, just add a scoop of sawdust before and after you go!
Pillows and linens are provided for all beds.
There is no electricity or running water, however LED battery lights are situated around the cabin and there is a garden hose available to use for rinsing hands and dishes. In the event of freezing temperatures, water will not be available.
There is very limited cell phone service on our farm and no access to the internet at the cabin.

Easy pa stop - clean and cozy.
Road trips are made easier by simple stops. For us this was exactly the situation at the cozy cabin. The accommodation was as advertised. Fresh air and kind hosts. Instead of the biggest highways to the north or south we took a new route across the center of the state - only 10 minutes more and we had great driving and a stop at this little gem!
The retreat i needed
I needed a place close to home to get off the merry go round and sit still. I also wanted to cook over an open fire but crawl into a comfy bed after the evening’s flames burned out. The Cozy Cabin @ Nature Works Farm fit the bill perfectly.
The Cabin, more spacious than I anticipated, was simple, clean and decorated with homey touches, including pictures of Cassandra and Bob’s animals and produce. A cast iron skillet was ready to cook my meals. The little sink and hose around back cleaned dishes and human hands without problems. And the composting toilet area was tidy, odorless, and served its purpose just fine.
Yes, you can see the farm house, sort of, if you try. I spent much of my 3 1/2 days on the lovely little porch looking at the stream and the fields beyond the trees. What house? Yes, you can hear traffic, but I encourage you to listen more intently to the birds and frogs. What vigorous performances they provided each day!
Don’t come expecting luxury because you won’t find it. What you will find is a safe, sweet little cabin tucked next to a peaceful stream, a retreat for unplugging and/or for using as a home base for all the activities found in this area, and best of all, super friendly and gracious hosts!
Thank you, Cassandra and Bob! I loved every second. I left feeling rejuvenated and will be back as soon as possible!
We absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cabin! It felt private and secluded, Cassandra and Bob's land is beautiful, and they were wonderful hosts. The cabin is bright and homey; the porch is a lovely place to sit and read, we cooked over an open fire but then got to sleep on a comfy bed! The surrounding area is gorgeous, and we enjoyed visits from the farm dog and cats as well. I plan to return in the future!
10/10 would recommend this beautiful spot to anyone looking to get away from everything and just enjoy the basics. My buddies and I were able to put all distractions aside catch up and have a great time away! Wish we would of booked another night! Hope to return one day
Magical little stay!
We LOVED the Farm and its cozy cabin! The host had given us directions to follow since we knew it was going to be dark when we arrived. They were a little confusing so we ended up walking a bit into the farm and away from the cabin on a crystal clear, sky-filled night. Our boys were overjoyed with the adventure! We eventually found the cabin, which really is just "Park in the HipCamp labeled spot go to your LEFT and go down the hill. The cabin is at the end of a little footpath." So comfy and clean. We celebrated a 7th birthday in the morning, and the host gave us directions to the most magical swimming hole. our guys loved the baby piglets and friendly cow in the pasture! And the little creek. We were there for less than 12 hours, and it was everything we needed, wanted and more. THANK YOU!!!!
Just what we needed
The Cozy Cabin at Nature Works Farm was just as promised - cozy, private, and very comfortable. My partner and I desperately needed time away from the city and from our phones and computers and we couldn't have asked for a better spot. It was located within close proximity to numerous outdoor opportunities, was quiet, cool (SUPER important during this latest heat wave), very clean, and private, allowing us the chance to unplug, relax, and recreate with complete socially-distant abandon. Pure joy.
What a great space! I had such a wonderful time staying at Nature Works Farm and exploring the area! I had super easy access to the closest town Indiana, the Ghost Town Trails, and Yellow Creek Park. The hosts are warm and welcoming and I felt incredibly well taken care of.
