We had a great time camping at Barakah Heritage farm. The olive grove site was so peaceful, relaxing, and secluded. It was so nice to cook and relax by the fire in the evening, which featured beautiful sunsets over the fields. The farm is a location perfect for a trip to the Endless Mountains, Rickett's Glen, World's End etc. We had a great 4th of july weekend at the farm, and we recommend staying here over any campground.
Stayed here for 3 nights to be near Ricketts Glen (20 minutes) and World's End (35-40 minutes). The site is very private, had a great view of the night sky (we spotted many shooting stars and even the ISS!), and were visited by deer, bats, and hummingbirds.
Carrie was an excellent hostess and the farm was easy to find, get in and out of in our prius, and very quiet. The closest campsite to us was diagonally across the pasture and we never heard them.
The outdoor shower was easy to operate, private, and had good pressure.
Our phones (Verizon and AT&T) both had good reception at the site as well.
Would definitely stay here again!
There are several sites on the farm that are well distanced from each other. We stayed in the Olive Grove.
-toilet provided (dry bucket)
-SECLUDED!!! We were in a cove that was VERY private. You could hardly see it tucked back in there.
-could hear noise from Route 42 nearby
-could see dirt bikers in the woods one afternoon (out of 3, wasn’t too bad)
Would love to come back but would try to get a site on the other side of the hill. I’m very sensitive to noise. I think the other side would be quieter.
Overall, a beautiful campsite. The sunrises were spectacular!
Great base camp
The Olive Grove was a great place to set up camp. I liked that I could just as easily hang out in the sunshine or tuck back into the shade. Lots of privacy, and I even had a baby bunny hanging out at my site. I didn't take advantage of any of the events, just used it as a base camp. It's just a short drive to Rickett's Glen, would suggest sampling the trails away from the waterfalls for a lot less crowds (saw only 2 people in 6 hours of hiking).
Carrie was a wonderful host with great communication and a good handle on what it means to abide by Covid-19 precautions (very impressed!!). Overall, it was a wonderful stay.
We will be back!
A beautiful, private site. Top of a hill, a few hundred yards (at least) to the next site over, and so dark that the night sky was amazing! While we were enclosed in a small clearing, it was only 30 feet out into a pasture with great views. Great location, just 20 minutes to Ricketts Glen. Nice to have a bucket toilet provided, and a hot shower nearby (we did not use the shower). Great experience overall.
The olive grove site is very secluded, which we loved. There is a dry toilet that is simple to use. The outdoor shower is also very easy (shared with other campers). Carrie is a great communicator and all went as planned.
A great, peaceful camping experienc
I spent a peaceful night in a secluded location in the olive grove. All my needs were met as described on the website. If you know you're camping, not glamping you'll enjoy your stay. It is a beautiful farm. I saw horses, ducks, and chickens. There were two tiny fawns in the field in front of my campsite at dusk. They were only as tall as the grass! Cute! I would stay here again.
