If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The yurt was such an awesome spot to spend a night on the Oregon coast. Even though we visited in the off-season, the yurt was as cozy as ever with plenty to do. We went fishing on Moolack beach (don't forget your license!), checked out Newport, and had everything we needed to cook our fish back at the yurt thanks to Andy! We'll be back in the summer to surf, enjoy the outdoor shower, the BBQ, and the deck with an amazing view of the beach. Would highly recommend the yurt anytime of year, thank you Andy!
Stay here to see the oregon coast!!
This is a fantastic location for anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful Oregon Coast! It was just close enough to get to Newport to enjoy local breweries and restaurants, but also far enough to feel like you're in your own oasis! The yurt was immaculate and the hosts put so much effort into every tiny detail and accommodation you or your family could need to make a memorable trip! My partner and I truly enjoyed cooking breakfast and playing board games and card games from their infinite selection! We lucked out and got pristine weather for the coast and was able to enjoy the large patio that is also enclosed, which is perfect for our pups! During the cold nights, the fireplace and space heater did an excellent job and gave the space a cabin feel! The bathroom had all the amenities you could need and plenty of hot water to warm you up after a day at the beach! There is a path to the beach right out the door and a dog park just in town, which was perfect for our dogs. I would recommend this place for an intimate couples retreat from the city or a family looking to spend sometime making memories!
Amazing surf yurt getaway!
Super awesome, cozy yurt! Amazing beaches just outside your door and a lovely deck from which to enjoy the views and ocean sounds. Even on a rainy weekend, we had a fantastic time in this wonderfully designed and maintained getaway.
As many other visitors commented, this place is special. It was such a unique place to stay as a family during a really weird year. We stayed for two nights and after I leave this review, will be booking something for spring/summer 2021. A few things to note:
The wonderful- One of the better stocked kitchens we have seen (cooking oil! so many rentals never have cooking oil). Bluetooth speaker was easy to use. The location is perfect- walking distance to two beaches and an awesome look out. Very clean. Bring your own bedding felt like the responsible thing to do and I think actually made for a cozier visit (they did have a few extra blankets and pillows if you needed them).
The things to be aware of- the beaches closest are not easily accessible for all abilities. We have an old pup (14) and he struggled to get down on the rocky entrance to one and there are lots of stairs on the other. Rain and hail are really loud in a yurt. We had a wild lightning storm for about 30 minutes the first night, it was VERY loud and pretty scary for a dog and two year old.
Thank you for building such a special place and sharing it! We are excited to return for another visit.
The yurt is truly a slice of heaven. It is spacious and beautifully decorated, stocked with everything besides towels and bedding sheets as stated in the description, but I love my sleeping bag, so, I didn't mind at all. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. The sound of the waves are totally omnipresent since a yurt lets the sound pass better than hard walls. I would love to come back in the summer, use the outside deck and actually go surfing!
The surf yurt was exactly what we wanted. Close to some beautiful Oregon beaches a great place to stay.
Will certainly be back in summer to soak up the long evenings and sunsets from the deck.
