What a delight! Jessica and Eric were excellent hosts - very responsive and accommodating. Their property is charming, and our group felt right at home. We hope to return on our next trip through!
Feels secluded even though it is just off the highway. It was perfect for what I wanted. Super easy to drop in for a night along my journey. Jessica was great at communicating where to park and was very gracious. Will definitely stay here again. Also, cell reception was amazing. My host spot connection was super fast.
Great overnight spot in small town. Nice large grassy area, with plenty of shade. We enjoyed feeding the sheep and the chickens. Bathroom is a bit of a walk down the road, but that was fine - no smells and well maintained. Host provided handwashing supplies, and drinking water for our stay, as well as access to a hose. We had breakfast and coffee at the general store in the morning, so fun to be a part of this small community for a day!
So convenient! Host is so sweet and accomodating. Felt safe and cozy in this cute little hobby farm.
Jessica and Eric are fun, friendly people who live on some acreage and have a hobby farm. We do enjoy animals so that was fun for us. Our tent was set up on a flat, freshly mowed lawn, with some trees. The only drawback for us was the noise of nighttime traffic by long haul truckers as this campsite is close to the main street through town. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and consider Jessica and Eric wonderful camp hosts.
I loved this place! The owner was super friendly and it was a nice little farm to stay at. It was a great place to stay on the way into Portland.
Eric and Jess are the best! They are so welcoming and down right good people!
Jessica and her family were incredibly accommodating and understanding of our unique vehicle situation after coming from the racetrack. This was a perfect relaxing spot to camp for the night after a long day out driving. The animals were lovely and super friendly, I had a blast throwing the frisbee for the dogs while sitting by the fire. I cannot recommend this stay enough. Thanks again Jessica, we'll definitely be back!
Friendly host on a small-town farm
Jessica is a friendly host, and we had a good 2-night stay. Her farm is located about a block off US highway 97, which has truck traffic at all hours (but not anywhere near as much traffic as an Interstate). Many people stop at the city park to use the restroom (which is the same pit toilet that you use as a camper at this location -- very close to Jessica's place). Other than that, Grass Valley is a very quiet place, and we enjoyed walking around the town in the evening.
Jessica's place is a working farm, with several types of animals -- they were fun to watch. We slept in our vehicles during our stay; if we had wanted to put up a tent, we would have needed to spend some time first clearing a spot to get rid of the animal poop. There are street lights nearby, so if you are light-sensitive when you sleep you may need an eye shade. I would also recommend bringing a table cloth if you want to use the picnic table, as it is under a big tree that is popular with birds.
