Nature All Around Camping
The Property
This is a beautiful property with chirping birds, a quiet creek, and nature all around. We have two large fields with multiple, unmarked sites that we allow guests to choose from. Our front field is better for larger RV's but is closer to the street. The back field is better for tent campers and smaller RV's and is more secluded from the street.Â

We are a family-owned, small private farm and live here full time as well but have plenty of space to share with people.Â
Sites
Sites are unmarked. We have 4 spaces with access to electric. We can fill water tanks if needed but recommend coming with full ranks if you have an RV. Otherwise, there are lots of other spaces for people to camp, we can comfortably host about 15 different spots where each site has room and privacy away from the next site. Sites do not have any amenities at them, i.e. no tables, fire pits or bathrooms - these are all communal.
Fires
Due to fire season, we are allowing small fires only in the large communal fire pit. Fires must be kept low and managed and must be put out entirely before leaving the area.
Amenities
A large pool, outdoor fire pit, and gas grill are all available for use. There are 4 groups of seats around the pool available for use and two seating areas by the large fire pit. The table/fire pit with the large umbrella closest to the house is reserved for our family only.Â
Please feel free to walk the grounds, visit the goats, and explore! We have a larger family table near the fire pit, a smaller two person setting, and a hammock for lounging.
We have a portable available from June to September, no sink or showers available. There is an outdoor sink near the goat pen which is separate from the bathroom, a slight walk up the hill.Â
Animals
We welcome dogs but the property is not fenced. The front of the property towards the road is lined mostly with a pond, but the rest of the property is open.Â
We have several dogs who roam about throughout the day. While they do have boundary collars, we recommend not leaving anything highly valuable out on the ground in the open. Please feel free to shoo them away and say no if they are a bother. If you want to bring them up from your site, let us know so we can manage our dogs and introduce everyone.Â
We have free range chickens who wander all about, if your dog is prone to eating them, we advise to keep your pup tethered. Dogs are required to be in your tent, rv, or car with you at night as our 9 acres of wooded forest at the edge of the property may have things unfriendly to dogs. :)Â
Details:Â
- Latest arrival time is 8pm - if you plan to arrive after 8pm please provide advanced notice. If you need to arrive past 9pm, a $20 late check-in will be added.Â
- Max 15 amps output available
- Max RV length - approx 32-35' for easy access. Larger RVs will need special access via a different road that requires permission and coordination.Â
- Quiet time on the property is around 10pm - please keep parties and loud noise down, or if at a more distant site, contained to your area if it's far enough from other campers.Â
FYI
We are off a relatively busy street so there is some road noise. In addition, this is a working farm so there will be occasional tractor/tool noise.Â
There is a rooster both on our property and at the neighbors that may make rooster calls throughout the day. We had one camper report they heard him at night - bring ear plugs if you are noise sensitive.Â
We can be available to assist with anything you need. Otherwise it's likely we will be around working on the farm and fixing up things around the property.
Other things to note
This 3400 square foot, single level home was designed for the owners of what was Salem's largest private employer by architect Robert Byrd and completed in 1954. It boasts a unique style and history shared with other Byrd homes located around Hollywood and built for celebrities. Byrd's designs often incorporate curved elements (windows, eaves, and walls) and extensive brick work. Many of the used bricks from a now demolished Oregon State Penitentiary show foundry marks from the 1860's and 70's. It is a working farm and has many on-going projects on the property as we continue to improve it for ourselves and our guests.

Danielle and Dana were great hosts and very accommodating throughout our stay. Awesome location for those attending an event at Capital FC.
Lovely people who helped us out without a question when we got stuck after a heavy rain. Would definitely come back if in Salem again
For fifty bucks there could be some amenities like maybe a picnic table, fire ring at campsite, wi fi etc
Was convenient to I 5 and the gentleman owner was very nice.

Hi Ken, we have a large fire pit fully stocked with wood, fire starters and sticks, several tables for guests, and wifi up at the house. We have portable toilets, outdoor sinks, and a large swimming pool that may not have been ideal for the season but is part of the offering as well. Since you arrived late in the afternoon and left the next morning, your review of the space is not accurate. Thanks for booking with us regardless.
Rural setting, close to townâŠlovely
Super friendly hosts. You can hear a bit of traffic noise on the property, but itâs not bad. Lovely, rural setting, yet still close to town.
We loved it! âïžđČđ„

What accomodating hosts, thank you! They were readily available for assistance with questions and greeted us upon arrival. They were so friendly and so helpful. We enjoyed our stay and visited the goats, chickens and enjoyed the dogs that lived on site.
Property, pool, peeps all great!
Great place! Hosts are friendly and the property is lovely. The dogs are friendly and enjoy the company. Great seating around the pool + community fire pit. Fit us in last minute after fleeing smoke further south, helped end the trip on a good note!
