We had a really great time tent camping at Bonnie’s site. It was quiet and secluded. Having no noise or light pollution made the star gazing incredible! I will definitely be back.

What a great spot! Secluded, gorgeous views, basic amenities - a perfect spot to get away and unwind. Close to the Painted Hills and Fossil Beds, beautiful drive in every direction. 10/10
Terrific scenery. Bonnie's land is classic John Day country with a beautiful view of Black Butte. I also loved the off-trail hiking (which I wouldn't generally recommend to other campers since it's a scramble.) It would be good to know if the road beyond Bonnie's house is available for walking.
We loved on with Bonnie's lands. The view are owesome! The camping site is easy to find and use.

Steve and Bonnie had a fantastic site. Beautiful views to start off the day. We ran into some trouble coming out as part of the drive down had turned to a mud pit. Steve spent his morning with a tractor and a jeep wrangler helping us get out of our precarious situation. It was more than we could have asked for and he and Bonnie went above and beyond to get us back on our way.
Couldn’t recommend them more for the next time you visit the Painted Hills.

Great location to explore the area. Agree with other reviewers - easy directions, quiet, great views, nice setup!
Incredible view! Super clear directions. The road to the campsite is a bit rough. I went up in my Prius and was a little worried it wouldn't make it, but it did!
Very quiet and beautiful! You arent too far from two houses higher in the hills which can provide a better sense of security. The light pollution is barely existent which provides amazing views of the stars. I highly recommend this site to anyone!
