One mile from I-5, you may use the on-site tent or pitch your own beneath some fir trees at the edge of a small meadow bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility.  Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek.

Now that the last of the leaves is falling and the rains have renewed the meadow’s grass, parking and camping will be upland, near the garden, only but a short walk to the campsites.  You may use a small wagon to transport your tent to the sites should you want to pitch a tent, but driving to the creek-side sites is not allowed since the soil is too soft.

Our stay at Susan’s place was just what we needed. It’s close to the interstate and we were able to camp in a serine spot by a creek on our drive south from Washington. Susan is a great host and met us when we arrived and showed us around. It is clear that she values her land and stewards it with love and grace! Highly recommend a stay here.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed a second stay at Applegate Century Farm. Susan is a marvelous host, full of stories about the history of the land and the natural surroundings, and she showed us a fun hiking trail to enjoy between relaxing by the creek and preparing meals at our picnic table. This campsite is a must-see if traveling in the area and needing a night off the road (1-mile from I-5) or just for a weekend of respite from city life. We will most definitely be back!

Peaceful, open, Beauty, light.
Sue was so helpful. Friendly - made sure we had everything we needed.
My kids loved it - so many great places to enjoy.
Having picnic benches great and far enough away from other campers that it does not feel crowded.

We loved camping at Susan's beautiful property! She was a delight to talk with and the site had everything we needed, including the absolute cleanest portapotty I have ever seen. We will definitely be back!

When our original plans in nearby Willamette Nat’l Forest were not panning out due to fires & heavy smoke we (3 adults, 3 kids, and a dog) had to come up with a plan B fast. Luckily with little notice we found this place & Susan was more than accommodating. The farm was beautiful, quiet, full of history & wildlife. Our site along the creek & in the shade was natural & relaxing. Though we were informed the creek was lower than usual due to drought, there was still a good cool current and the kids played in it all weekend (adults & dog took a dip too). Susan was a wonderful host & offered bits of history, future plans on the farm & wildlife/garden knowledge. Love it when plan B turns out to be just what you needed. Definitely will plan a trip back!

Field in front of site #2, which is tucked in trees along creek (there’s also a field to the left of pic in front of site #1, which is also tucked in trees along creek). The walk down little nature trail.Creek view at bottom of little nature trail. The barn! View once you’ve pulled all the way up the drive.

We had a nice stay at Susan’s farm. The campsite was shaded by a creek, with a picnic table, and a nice flat spot to set up our tent. The directions were clear and it was conveniently located off the freeway. It was a great place to break up our drive and take a rest for the evening. We would come back again!

Susan A’s property was great for us! We rented both sites for 2 nights. She was a very gracious host and her site was able to accommodate our group of 5 adults and 7 children. (Ages 2-9) We were looking for a midway point for friends to meet up between Ashland and Portland and this was perfect. Easy to find right off the freeway. The shaded tree grove was lovely for hanging out, setting up our tents and kitchen. The site had easy access for the kids to play in the creek. The creek is very low right now but they had a great time. The little meadow was a great space for kids to play as well. Just a short walk to a very clean port-a-potty and fresh water spigot. She also provided a wagon and bucket which was very helpful! The garbage bins were a bonus also! All in all it was a very private, quiet and relaxing space. And Susan was very accommodating to us!
