Camping at the 103 Acre woods is part of the Marlborough Forest. It has groomed pathways in the meadow and rustic pathways through the woods for your hiking pleasure. If you are interested in backwoods camping, it's easy to do here, park your car in the driveway, grab your gear, and head to the back forty!

If camping is not your thing and you just want some private land for the day, such as a photo shoot, or just wandering around, firepit lunch or firepit dinner,  just book a site. If you reserve both sites, the entire land becomes yours for the time you are here.

It's currently Fall. Fall is a great time to camp. Days can be warm and night can be cool. Camp fires are perfect this time of year. The colors in the trees are beautiful. Bonus in the fall, most of the bugs are not present anywhere! Makes it very nice to be outside with nature!

When the snow falls, I plan to have day activities available, such as snowshoeing/hiking/cross country skiing, and star gazing. The fire pits will be functional and plenty of wood to burn.

I only list 2 sites for camping so you will have plenty of space and privacy from any other campers. Lots of space to spread out and have your privacy. If you want complete privacy, reserve both sites!

For the tenting campsites, I have 2 available. One is in the front  40 near the playstructure and closer to the house. It's called the "Cedars". You can drive directly to your campsite.

For the winter the 103 Paces is not available. It's much harder to access in the winter.

The other campsite is a short hike into the woods and is just off to the side. It's called the "103 Paces". When staying at the 103 Paces campsite, you can drive through the meadow and park just outside of the woods. From there, there is a lawncart you can use to transport your gear to the campsite. Each campsite has a firepit for your use and is close to a shared composting toilet.

If you are staying in an RV, you can park in the driveway and still access all the other parts of the property. Tent campers can select anywhere they want to pitch a tent and enjoy the beauty of the 103 Acre woods.  Depending on where you choose to camp, you might be able to drive right up to your site.

Firepit and wood available for use providing there is no burn ban. Water from the hose attached to the house is available for use. You are welcome to use the outside outlets to charge your devices. RV Electric hookup can be used for an extra fee.

In the winter,  the composting toilet will be located in my heated detached garage.

I have a composting toilet in a privacy cabana.  There will be sanitizer to sanitize your hands. The composting toilet is a shared facility for both campsites. Comes with toilet paper.  If you prefer to have your own composting toilet, you can add that on for an extra when you are booking. It's 10.00 more for your stay.

In the winter there is no water.

I have a few water jugs to have water at your site if you don't have your own jug.

A compost bin is available for food.  A trash can is provided for waste. Recycle bins are in use as well for paper and plastic.

I have patio table that can be used at your site if it's in the front 40. Back forty, I have a smaller more portable table that can be used. It's not too heavy to port.

Firewood is not necessary to bring, there is lots of wood locally here on the property to use, you just have to gather it up yourself. I have a wheelbarrow that can be used to transport it to your site.

There are wetlands and forests and meadows. There is very little light pollution here. Come and gaze at the stars If you are lucky, you might get to hear the resident whippoorwill, he is nocturnal. The sky is beautiful at night. Wake up to the sounds of many birds.

There is a play structure for kids with  2 slides and a bridge, monkey bars, swings,  firepole, and climbing wall.

There are many things to find in the back 40. You might find a vintage car bumper, and in the spring if you look really hard, you might come across Lady Slipper orchids. They are stunning in the wild. If you want to trudge through the wetlands, be sure to bring your rubber boots. In the front 40 you can take some fun pictures with a vintage abandoned front end of an Aston Martin truck.

The 103 Acre woods is conveniently located 3K from the Rideau River and Canal in Burritt's Rapids. Burritts Rapids has a nice "Tip to Tip" trail you can hike on the island of Burritts Rapids. Also there is the Henry Street Park, which has a small beach on the Rideau River.  The Rideau Trail is located nearby as well.  There are many entrances to the Rideau Trail just minutes away.

Located 10 minutes or so from Merrickville. Great fishing along the Rideal Canal lock system. Merrickville has a small beach on the Rideau River. Merrickville has a wonderful Gelato place "Stella Luna". Get your Gelato and walk back to see the boats in the historic Rideau Canal. Lots of history in Merrickville and Burritt's Rapids.

If camping is not your thing and you just want some private land for the day, such as a photo shoot, or just wandering around, firepit lunch or firepit dinner,  just book a site. If you reserve both sites, the entire land becomes yours for the time you are here.

There are 2 well-behaved chiahuahua's who live on the property. They will see you at the meet and greet.  They will for sure welcome you to their yard. Your dog is welcome, just remember to pickup after them.

 Covid protocols are followed.

Perfect for Snowbirds or anyone who need a place to quarantine. I am happy to shop for you when I shop for my groceries and you can count on contactless delivery to your RV.

Meg's land is beautiful and I highly recommend staying here. Meg owns 100 Acres and it's lovely.

I visited alongside my 1-year-old puppy and Tommy and we had an amazing time. Tommy was able to be off-leash from the moment we arrived.

When we pulled into the long driveway, Meg and her two chihuahua's were there to greet us.

You are able to drive 90% of the way from Meg's home toward the site and then offload your gear into a little cart that Meg provides. The walk to the site is maybe 1 minute.

The tents are in a open area surrounded by trees with a fire pit, 4 chairs and table (Meg provides cushions), tea pot, food pot, and a grate for cooking on the fire. Meg provides plenty of pre-cut wood for burning with a 'burn what you can find' mentality which is great.

Meg came and checked in a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed and she even chainsawed a tree for extra wood at the end of the day, which was a huge help.

A great place for someone looking to get away from the city without driving 1.5hrs+ from Ottawa and still having the safety and comfort of a homestead nearby incase of emergencies.

I highly recommend staying here.

I love this little hidden gem! It was peaceful. I love the little pathways to walk. We even found two snakes. Lots of stars to see too. And Meg was amazing, she was very friendly and checked on us to see if we needed anything. We only camped a night, just to get out of town. We would definitely think about good again, next year when its warmer and not end of summer holidays.

We we’re stuck trying to find a campsite near Ottawa. I only Googled campgrounds and had no luck. Changing my search to camping was when I found out about hipcamp.com
After signing up and doing a search I found Meg’s place. I read some other reviews about how helpful she was so we reached out prior to booking. After a few messages I booked her last site.
Meg was more than accommodating to our late night request. Our only other option was a way over priced hotel room in Ottawa. We so wanted to try out our new pickup truck tent and be out in the fresh air. It was so worth the drive.
Meg met us as soon as we pulled into the driveway. She walked us to a site. Showed us the facilities and provided us with plenty of information on the property. We got all setup did some beautiful stargazing with no light pollution and then we were serenaded by the local owl to sleep.
We had to leave in the morning but Meg took the time to send us off. My only regret was that we didn’t arrive sooner for some exploration and a campfire.
I look forward to seeing you in future Meg for more camping!!

Meg was amazing and really went the extra mile for our stay preparing everything for our arrival with RV locating hoses and electric. Dora and Diamond ensure a warm welcome for all. During our stay, Meg upgraded facilities adding a screenhouse and hot shower during the days as we ventured. While we were out she also made us a thoughtful gift of embroidered keychains to match the RV. So thoughtful and empathetic.
The location is great for exploring the Rideau Canal, Ottawa areas and also is convenient to mountain biking and hiking. I predict a very successful venture for Meg in this quiet and private location. Thank you sooo much!;

Thank goodness for Meg! She welcomed us with open arms on short notice when we needed to stop for the night with our little trailer. Upon arrival, she was all set up to hook us up to power, and even provided a water bottle and cute holder to clip on to a leash that she made herself. She turned out all the lights so we could see the incredible darkness of her property. A real stargazer’s paradise. She let us know about some walking trails we might explore in the morning and was kind enough to offer extra blankets. Communication was friendly and helpful at all times. She even helped us to back out our trailer in the morning. Our only regret was that we had to leave in the morning. Meg’s a gem and her acreage has lots of room to explore. Thanks Meg!
