Rustic bunkie located on 2 acres, is nestled among the trees beside a small, crystal clear lake. With 700 ft of untouched shoreline, privacy is second to none. From this lake, you can access 3 other lakes by provided canoe/kayak without portage. Construction is ongoing-take advantage of the temp low price, reflecting this!

PLEASE NOTE: The bunkie is for 2 guests only. However, there is room to pitch a tent outside of the bunkie (please select 3-4 guests if you are planning on using both accommodations).

The site is 35 min. from Algonquin Park and 11 km from MKC, the world-famous white water paddling centre.

10x10 main floor with sleeping loft. Solar power provides lighting & a propane furnace for cool nights. Solar lights outside provide ambient lighting-may be turned off if preferred.

The call of the loons & the barred owl will be your lullaby as you drift off to sleep after a day of hiking, paddling, or swimming.

There is no running water, you will have to bring your own drinking water. You will need to bring everything you require for cooking, eating and washing dishes. There is no sink, stove, or BBQ on site. As the site is off-grid, there are no appliances.

There is a split log bench beside the self-contained fire pit.  Please bring your own firewood, matches/lighter,  and/or firestarter materials. Small fires only please, as this is a well-treed location. Fires must be extinguished prior to going to bed — there is a bucket by the firepit.

If you are wondering if something is there, I suggest you reach out to check with me before arrival.

There is a new private outhouse on site. The outhouse is past the bunkie along the path. Signage is coming! Solar lights work with the flick of a switch — one switch by the door, one by the bed.

You have access to 2 kayaks, 1 canoe, and a paddleboat. These are located on the beach in front of the house. Paddles and 2 adult life jackets will be there as well. Please return these to the beach as you found them after each use.  If you are bringing your own water toys, you are welcome to keep them on the beach. It is a natural shoreline at the bunkie, with a sandy bottom — pretty good swimming, actually! Absolutely no harsh chemicals/detergents in the water!

There will be a recycle bin and garbage can for you to leave your bunkie garbage and recycling. Please leave the site tidy and as you found it. This is a small lakeside community —  no loud music, please. Respect the solitude!

**A house is currently being built on the lake, which unfortunately results in the expected construction noise**

Please respect the natural setting — leave it as you found it, do not cut live growth.

To access the bunkie you will park in the driveway at the hosts' adjacent property. The bunkie is about 300m from the parking location.

Jessica was a really great host! She made sure we had precise parking and walking directions and her space was so welcoming. She provides bedding which was a nice comfort and saved us on packing and the windows let in sunlight from dawn until dusk in the bunkie. We spent most time enjoying the outside with our dog and even went for a dip in the lovely, sandy, and easy to access lake. Our morning started beautifully with a kayak around the lake and into some of the surrounding lakes. What a treasure her property is, I would encourage you to not only visit but take advantage of all the places to explore just outside the bunkie door!

The bunkie entrance, the main level has two chairs, a desk, some small hooks for coats and keys and a padded floor. We got to see lots of fish and a heron fly past us as we kayaked the creek into another neighbouring lake.Wish we could have kayaked for the whole day, this lake is connected to a few others that Jessica told us about where you can explore what feels very remote areas and paddle right back to the bunkie! The sandy shallow beach entry into the warm and quiet lake.
