Carl was friendly, generous and helpful. He greeted us with maps and info about nearby parks and forests. The place is well taken care of and he is developing great infrastructure. Site was spacious. Not much shade so it could be hot in summertime. It was way to find.

Beautiful location in the middle of the Blue Rock state forest-- a remote yet not too far away place that I had never even heard of in spite of growing up in Columbus. Nice and spacious tent sites on one side of a lane and trailers on the other side, along the length a long and wide meadow edged by wooded ridges--a spot great for star gazing, hanging around the campfire, etc., and the state forest is a good hiking spot, with nice old walnut, hickory, tulip poplar, oak, and sycamore stands and well-tended trails as far as I could tell. You have an excellent host in friendly and informative Carl, who has recently acquired the old campground and is steadily rejuvenating the place. There are already enough amenities to make for a good weekend camping (or horsing or hunting) trip--and I believe Carl will be providing more.

This is a great little campground on the border of the Blue Rock State Forest. Carl was an excellent host who greeted me when I arrived late in the evening and came to say thank you when I was ready to leave. Being the new owner of this campground he has lots of great plans on improvements. Check this place out! I would recommend it in an instant.
