What a unique experience! My husband and two little boys had a great time camping at Six Buckets Farm. In this age of social distancing farm camping is a great way to have a safe vacation and get closer to nature. Lyndsey, Seth, and family were amazing and gracious hosts. There are two private sites, one is in an open field directly up and behind their house which is a short walk and best for cooler days. The second, which we chose, is more private and about 1/3 of a mile further up the hill with an amazing view. Seth and Lyndsey will ATV your stuff up to the site and back down when you leave so be sure to plan enough water on the front end. The site is tree covered and has a line of activities strung up for kids to play on. Fire pit is provided with a little wood but I would recommend bringing your own. You will hear the pigs at times during the day and night but these guys couldn’t be happier. It’s an open range for them to roam and it’s refreshing to see the next generation of farmers using such humane practices. It truly makes a difference in taste if you’re lucky to get a sample. We were even allowed to pet the piggies which made our day. If you’re looking for something else to do with the kids, the farm at Walnut Creek is a fun and safe drive through activity as well as the short hike to Dundee falls for some river walking. We had our share of camping mishaps, a little rain, a little poison ivy, and some bugs, but that’s to be expected when you’re primitive camping. You make the most of it and appreciate the unique experience and the beautiful farm these generous people are sharing with you.
Six Buckets Farms was quite an experience. The weather was absolutely perfect for our camping adventure. Lindsey, the host, was extremely gracious upon our arrival, especially being that she didn't know we were coming...slight communication error on my part :) But that didn't matter. She showed us around the area and pointed out good spots to pitch our tent, which we did. The view on top of the hill where we picked overlooked their pond, home, their abundance of pigs and their other property across the street. It was quiet and peaceful under the stars while we sat around the fire. I would definitely recommend Six Buckets Farm for your next camping adventure.
