Peaceful, relaxing time with kids
Great camping spot for kids and adults, but kids especially given the farm animals to see and shelter/playground area. There's also short hiking trails on the property that are perfect for the kids. Love this hidden gem!
Order the cinnamon rolls!
We stayed in Walnut Grove for the second year in a row. It felt wonderful to be back! The hosts were helpful, and kind, and the goats celebrated our arrival. The facilities were clean and exactly as described. Order the cinnamon rolls, they are a perfect treat!
I can't say enough good things about Sheila, Brendon and their place. They were extremely responsive, welcoming and accomodating. We stayed at Site 4 and it was incredibly peaceful. It's in a well-shaded hollow and with temperatures at least 90 during the day, my dog and I stayed plenty content in the heat. It has nice patches of sun for sitting in in the cooler morning too. Outhouses were immaculate and there were plenty of well labeled trails to roam and hilltop views to look out. Another review mentioned not having AT&T cell service, but I had no trouble getting reception at the top of the corn field (just a few minutes walk from our site). This was really nice for me because I wanted to unplug. Overall, I would highly recommend this for a quiet camping getaway with plenty to explore!
the farm was beautiful and well-kept, the host was very welcoming and friendly, the campsite was clean, secluded, and suited all our needs! we highly recommend the cinnamon rolls, they were delicious! there are nice trails to explore and cows, donkeys, pigs and sheep to admire. overall our stay here was a 10/10!
Highly recommend. We stayed at site #2. It was close to porta potty, clean facilities. Host very friendly. Good communication. Common area has pavilion, usb plug for charging, tables, toys, swing set, tree swing, volleyball net, horseshoes. Our site came with plenty of fire wood. There are several trails, but we didn’t hike them (kids didn’t want to). There is a county road on the other side of creek opposite our camp site, but you can not see it due to trees and I only heard a few cars the entire time we stayed.
Fantastic unplugged weekend!
Creekside Getaway was a great place for our family to unplug and escape to nature for the weekend. We stayed at site #4, which was lovely and remote. It had lots of shade and great views. The pavilion was convenient and provided a fun afternoon of lawn games for us all. Hiking on the trails was great and there were pretty views at the top of the hills. The animals were adorable - the 2 young cows were so cute! And of course the cinnamon rolls were amazing!
Peaceful little oasis
Love this place! Located in the beautiful rolling hills of Ohio and very peaceful. The family is very kind and we were lucky to be the only guests at the time. Hiking trails are nice and you can tell a lot of love is put into this land! Would definitely recommend :)
We liked staying here. Only good things about the Creek side.
There was a nice playground for our 2-year-old, a camping place with a table, beautiful sky with plenty of stars. Everything was good.
