Cozy camper
The camp was perfect! There's a lovely wide mountain view when the leaves are off the trees. The walk Jim suggested down to the waterfall was easy, only about 10 minutes. Jim made starting a fire super easy with his magic faerie fire dust (can't recall what he called it lol). It was such a pleasure to have wood provided, since other camps charge. The bed was soooo comfy. Having unlimited electric was nice too! The TV is not hooked up and we were actually half to hear that🤗 the drive down the mountain is a bit long to be popping back in for an outfit change, but bouncing between exploring Dillsboro, sylva, and Waynesville was super convenient! We would def go back!

Friendly hosts and great camper
It was a great experience. James & Nancy were friendly and the environment is wonderful. The outside environment is much better the picture. It is easy to set up campfire thanks to kerosene-paste ready in a glass canister, and camper is comfortable and roomy enough for 2 adults like a couple and small kid like our family. This camper is connected to water system and installed with gas. You can use AC power on the bedside table to charge batteries and mobile reception is fairly good in spite of the mountain environment. There are a lot of plates, bowls and utensils and fridge is installed. Towels, linens are all available and there are pleeenty of firewoods. Therefore, you don't have to bring anything other than drinks and foods. Just drop by supermarket and go to this campler and you will enjoy beautiful, comfortable rest in the woods. You can take hot shower in the camper. Because of the limit of hot water amount, you won't be able to soak in a hot tub for a long time, but it is enough to wash off sweat to get refleshed. My kid loves this place so much so we will come back again.

Beautiful spot with lots of amenities! Jim and Nancy are fabulous hosts and provided lots of local knowledge of things to do in the area as well as made sure we had all that we needed for a perfect stay. We loved the endless amount of firewood provided, as well as privacy, plenty of shade with a large peep hole to enjoy the night sky, opportunities to explore the community and a safe space for our child and pup to roam freely. In addition, the camper was super clean and cozy and was plenty of room for 2 adults, 1 child and medium size dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Perfect hideaway in the woods!
We LOVED our stay with Jim and Nancy! They greeted us upon arrival and gave us a run through of the camper and their neighborhood, and some suggestions on nearby sights & activities.
The camper is outfitted with anything you might need for your trip: cooking utensils, a fridge & small freezer, running water & electric, hot shower, and more. We were perfectly comfortable as a couple with two medium sized dogs. The outdoor space was also fantastic, with a fire pit stocked with wood, comfy camping chairs, an awning, and a hammock! While the Mountain View would be better in the fall/winter when the trees have lost their leaves, there are plenty of views to be had just walking around their quiet and gated neighborhood. Our dogs were in heaven getting to run around the woods off leash and play in the nearby streams and waterfall. It was such a relief to feel like they had the freedom to run around far away from any main roads or other danger.
We thought their neighborhood was a great jumping off point for several things we were interested in seeing. We were away from the bustle of Asheville but able to visit the Biltmore one day, and drive and hike a portion of the parkway on the next. There were grocery stores and restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed the town of Dillsboro - lots of breweries and cute establishments. We’d love to stay with Jim & Nancy again!

Smoky Terrace - Blue Ridge Parkway
Our stay at Smoky Terrace was fantastic! The RV was immaculate and stocked with everything you'd need to cook and clean. It comfortably fit two adults and a dog with a large crate. The location is also great! The Parkway is only 12 miles away and James and Nancy have great recommendations for things in the area. We'd highly recommend Smoky Terrace if you're looking for a cozy and affordable place to camp comfortably.
