The campsite truly is magical! It had rained quite a bit the day of and before I arrived so the two creeks were more like raging rivers which made for quite the dramatic first impression. But don’t worry, there isn’t a risk of flooding as the site sits much higher and the multiple levels to the site provide a very unique perspective that I’ve never experienced in a campground. Absolutely no cell signal anywhere near the campsite or even a good 25+ minutes away from the site so make sure you’ve downloaded an offline map via google maps to get to the church.
Due to my own error, I failed to properly read the description that stated that a vehicle with a clearance of at least 5” was strongly recommended. Driving my little Mitsubishi Lancer down the road was simply too much for me to not worry about ripping something off of the bottom of my car so sadly, I had to pack up early rather than risk it.
That being said, there is absolutely nothing negative to say about this magical place and once I have a more appropriate vehicle, I will definitely be returning.
Brian has created a magical little world.
Pure mountain goodness! The setting of your tent overlooking a clear flowing mountain stream made for the perfect camp setting and also really nice sounds to fall asleep to at night. We enjoyed cooling off in the waist deep water and time around the fire pit with the seclusion of the trees surrounding us. The string lights are nice to use, just connect it to your USB charger, It would be nice to have a wooden rail to steady yourself down to to the fire pit area since the rock steps are wobbly and you end up accidentally stepping off to the side where there is a sign that says natural plantings do not step. I appreciate all the the nice plants and mushrooms around the campsite. Finding the camp site- Our GPS led us to the wrong end of the road in that is really only suitable for a big 4x4 truck, so please look on a map that your GPS is taking you to the right end of the road or you will be in for a big shock and get lost like we did. But it is was worth the confusion, because it is a really nice camp site! It would be nice if you could buy wood at the site, we left a day early because we ran out of wood to cook our food on and even though Brian mentioned you could buy wood down the road, we were afraid of going down a wrong road that would damage our vehicle because of all the backroads get confusing and you don’t have cell service. Don’t let this discourage you from this camp site though, because we really enjoyed our time here!

This is a beautiful campsite. It is well taken care of and Brian is terrific, he is very helpful.
Brian’s spot is sooo beautiful and so unique! The platform for the tent was great. The steps down to the fire pit and water are so carefully planned and executed. Every part of this place, down to the outhouse, was so clean and enjoyable. I especially appreciated the sounds of the creeks and getting to cool off. No neighboring campers made it a private little piece of Heaven. Thank you! I can’t wait to return
We loved camping at Heartstone! Beautiful site, private and secluded and very well kept. Loved the flowing streams so close by. Thanks Brian!
Brian's campsite is amazing! It definitely deserves to be listed as one of the best campsite on hipcamp. For being so secluded and off the beaten path he has managed to give some great amenities. The tent pad, picnic table, grill and very clean outhouse are wonderful. The campsite is shaded so even in the summer it stays nice and cool. Plus you have the cold mountain creek right at the site. The dogs love being able to run off leash. Brian is a great host. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you Jennifer! Please come again soon! Brian
If you’re looking for a gorgeous, creekside Hipcamp, and you’re willing to go off the beaten path, Heartstone at Mountain Creek may be the perfect place for you.
During our short stay at Heartstone, My husband and I camped in the quiet seclusion offered at this site. There were a few great spots to pitch a tent, but we chose to set up camp on the wooden platform conveniently constructed near the picnic table, fire-ring, and parking spot.
The entire property was immaculately well-maintained; clearly, someone put a lot of thought and energy into designing and landscaping this Hipcamp which so seamlessly merges with the
natural surrounding forest landscape. It’s a primitive site, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it! There is a walking path, footbridge, outhouse, and numerous benches and places to sit and relax
throughout the property. The creek twists and braids all around, and its peaceful murmur may be the only sound you hear during your stay. In fact, aside from a single, passing off-road vehicle, not another soul was seen during our brief sojourn at Heartstone.
Should your aim be to take a siesta from the outside world, look no further. You will not be disappointed.

Our stay was more than expected. Although it was a little tricky getting there, the trip was well worth it. Brian was a very courteous host and communicated with us frequently prior to our visit. The pictures DO NOT do Heartstone credit. The campsite is straight out of a fairy tale and more beautiful than imagined. During our whole visit we did not encounter not one human being the whole visit. So if privacy is what your looking for…Heartstone will definitely deliver. The sounds emitted from the creek were so load that we slept like babies and fire flies covered the top of our tent every night making it even more special. Definitely will be coming back!
