We are a small family owned and operated campground featuring two very large and private campsites on our 1.3 acre property. The campground is accessed by our private road which has a security cable that you can lock behind you at night. We are conveniently located right off of US 441 just 4 miles outside of Cherokee, NC. From our property we are a short and easy 10 minute drive to Bryson City, Sylva, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the North Carolina entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

When booking please select which campsite you'd like based on the following:

Site # 1 is our Creekside Campsite. It's a walk-in Tents only site which has a 16'x16' tent pad, a picnic table, large rock fire pit and a brand new park style charcoal grill. The Creekside area is only about 75 feet from where you'll park your car and the shared portable toilet. This site gets lots of Sun in the front part of the meadow and lots of shade from very mature maple and black walnut trees towards the back end where the tent pad is located. The site #1 parking area has room for 2 standard sized vehicles only. No RV/ trailer parking is available for Site # 1.

Site # 2 is our Hilltop Campsite. It is considered a Dry Camping / No Hookups site. This site has a large flat grassy area with trees all around the perimeter providing some shade at different times of the day. It also has a picnic table, a brick fire pit and a brand new park style charcoal grill.  The Hilltop site is available for tent campers as well as those traveling with smaller sized RVs. Perfect for camper vans, truck campers, smaller sized Class B and C's as well as travel trailers up to 20' in length. There is ample room to turn your rig around without having to back up therefore we have it listed as a pull through site.

** We can not accommodate any large class A or 5th wheels due to the steepness and curvature of the road. Four wheel drive or AWD is recommended to reach the hilltop site. Two wheel drive vehicles can make it just fine when the ground is dry however the Great Smoky Mountains area is considered a temperate rain forest and it can snow in early Spring and Winter.

** When booking site #2 please send us a message letting us know what type of equipment you'll be camping in. If bringing an RV please let us know what type ie travel trailer, class B etc and more importantly the length. To avoid possible damage to our property and yours, we will need this information before we can send you our check in/arrival instructions.

Directly across the highway from our property is a Dollar General and a Beer and Wine store. There is also a gas station close by on the same side of the highway that you could walk to. Behind the property is several acres of natural forest and on the other side beyond the trees is pasture land.

When booking please make sure you select the correct number of people in your party. The nightly base price per campsite is good for up to 4 people and 2 pets.  Any additional people in your party is $7 per person per night. Each campsite can accommodate a maximum total of 8 people, 2 pets and 2 vehicles.

Please note, Our property is easily accessed directly from US Highway 441 which is the main road to and from Cherokee and the National Park. The sounds of cars can be heard passing by at times. Please scroll through all of the photos and check out our reviews from previous guests as most people are not bothered by it at all and appreciate the convenient location and the very large and private campsites that we have to offer.

Please feel free to send me a message with any questions or concerns and I’ll be more than happy to respond as soon as possible. I can also recommend local eateries breweries hiking trails and activities.

Thank You very much and we hope to see you soon!

I camped at the tent only site. It was convenient to the Smoky’s, and was fairly easy to find. The host gave very good directions. The tent pad was a nice touch, and the portable toilet was exceptionally clean.

(#2 Hilltop (small RV/tents))
March 31st, 2022

Awesome location, super close to the park, which is truly what matters most. The portapotty was clean when we arrived, which was great. The location is right off a large road, and the sign from Dollar General was visible from the campsite, by the way. It was handy to be close to things, but I hadn't realized exactly how close to the road we'd be. We paid for a bundle of wood and were given a generous amount.

Response from Michael, the Host, on April 25th, 2022

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit! In winter and early spring the leaves and vegetation haven't quite grown back yet so some things such as the sign you mentioned are visible that you don't see in late spring and Summer. Hope you'll come back when things are much more lush and green.

March 29th, 2022

The campsite was overall good. It was clean, easy to find, and the instructions were great and super helpful. The road noise was more bothersome for us than the other reviews made it seem like it would be, but we really prefer the quiet of nature when we're camping.

Hipcamper Michael
Response from Michael, the Host, on April 25th, 2022

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. The Smokies have 4 seasons. You can hear the road a bit more in Winter and early Spring before the leaves and vegetation grow back. We hope you'll come back in the Summer when things are much greener and quieter.

Nice spot. Responsive host. Relaxing by the water and no on troubled us despite being close to traffic.
Dont recommend walking on the older wood part of bridge.

(#2 Hilltop (small RV/tents))
March 6th, 2022

We had a great stay during a beautiful weekend. The site is only a few miles from the reservation and main entrance to the Smokey Mountains. The only downside was how close it was to the highway noise and stadium lights that blocked out our hope of seeing the stars. Very well kept site with plenty of room! Thank you for such a wonderful weekend!

Hipcamper Michael
Response from Michael, the Host, on March 29th, 2022

Sorry about the lights coming from the Park down the road. It was Saturday night and they were having a softball tournament. Someone forgot to turn the lights off when they were finished. Hope you'll give us another chance in the near future. The stars are usually pretty nice at the hilltop site.

Great location, and a great value. It was nice having a big area to ourselves. Michael keeps a very clean location

Response from Michael, the Host, on December 1st, 2021

Thank You Tyler! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. We are often asked why we don't add more campsites to our property. Our answer is always the same. We want to give people a private camping experience with lots or room where you don't have to worry about someone else driving by or walking through your campsite. This is something you will not find at a commercial campground. Hope you'll come back and visit again soon.
