Bear Hollow: Creekside Camp
Shannon was a great host! The camp spot is easily accessible, clean and private. Camp is on is beautiful creek, that is a great spot to fish! Loved the stone fire pit and it was a great night for a fire. The hosts provided a compost toilet in a tall shower tent, chairs, table and solar shower bags. Highly recommend this camp during your travels.

Bear Hollow: Creekside Camp
We had a great stay here. Our pop up camper had a perfect set up right by a beautiful babbling creek. It was very private and very quiet. Our hosts were extremely kind and generous!

Bear Hollow: Creekside Camp
Peaceful, easy camping
Had a great stay at this spot with my friend! I tent camped, and she hammocked (there wasn’t an ideal spot for a hammock but she made it work fine), and we both enjoyed time sitting in the creek. Shannon was a fantastic host and provided amenities I wasn’t even expecting! The compost toilet was clean and handy, and she left us several solar lights we used around the site at night. A few cars drove by during the day, but it was totally quiet at night. This is a peaceful, easy spot if you are looking to set up and chill (rather than hike in) and don’t want camp neighbors. Shannon told us about some nice hikes in the area, so you can still get some walking in, too. Would stay again!

Bear Hollow: Creekside Camp
Beautiful Creekside Camping.
Lots of privacy, hundreds of feet of beautiful creek in an idyllic setting in Otto, NC. What's there not to love? I slept in the bell tent, which was perfectly appointed and comfortably large and warm on a cool evening. There were trails, a firepit, and hosts Robert and Shannon go out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed to make the stay complete and perfect! I would highly recommend a stay and look forward to returning.

Bear Hollow: Creekside Camp
Beautiful area!
Shannon and Robert were friendly, responsive and helpful hosts! The site is easy to get to with Shannon’s detailed instructions and it is a beautiful area. It’s off a “no outlet” road so there is minimal road noise. We loved all the thoughtful details! The bathroom with DIY composting toilet is awesome, the warm water shower bags were great for rinsing off and the lanterns were charged and ready for the night. We didn’t do a campfire while visiting as we had a rainstorm come through, but the sitting area is welcoming and comfortable. Splashing in the creek was one of our favorite parts! We absolutely recommend this hipcamp location. Shannon and Robert are new to hipcamp and chatted about all the cool things they will continue to add to this area. We don’t venture this way too often, but it is one we would definitely return to!
