Renovated in 2021, this cozy cabin rental in beautiful Upstate NY sits on the 60 acre Wellnesste Nature Sanctuary. If you love nature, the outdoors, peace & quiet, then this pet friendly cabin may be the perfect cabin getaway for you!

Most notably known for his 1949 book titled "A Sand County Almanac", Aldo Leopold is considered by many as the father of wildlife management. Aldo Leopold was a conservationist, forester, philosopher, educator, writer, and outdoor enthusiast. Amongst the people he has inspired over the generations is the founder of Wellnesste, Christophe Marin who both majored in Environmental Biology while at Eastern Illinois University.

Named in honor of conservationist & author Aldo Leopold, this cozy one room cabin is ideal for a couple or a family of four. With natural rough cut pine interior (harvested from the property) and built-in queen bunk beds, Leopold’s Cabin makes a great “petite retreat”. After a day of exploring the area, you’ll enjoy this peaceful little cabin as a place to curl up with a good book or magazine and unwind.

Such a comfy cabin! Christophe was such a great host. My partner and I brought our kitten, Finn, and it was such a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
We would recommend this to our friends (and we have!) and plan to come back as a group in the spring/summer!

Christophe was so welcoming as soon as we drove in! The acres of land were beautiful to be around. When we got to the cabin, I didn’t realize how close my cabin would be from everyone else’s including our hosts home. We were hoping for more privacy but that isn’t anyone’s fault! The cabin was small and perfect for just two people. It came with all the standard kitchen appliances, silverware, plates, pans/pots, etc. Our lighting fixture was broken too so unfortunately it was very dark in the cabin with there only being two small lamps. There is only one shared bathroom between the cabins. There’s a shower, flush toilet and sink. Due to COVID-19, I was hoping there would be paper towels to use instead of a hand towel for drying hands off with. I’m all about being environmentally friendly but I think having that would have made me a little more comfortable with it being a shared bathroom. I’m sure if I had asked Christophe for some, he’d be more than happy to help. Either way, it was a nice three day weekend getaway around some beautiful nature.

My stay in the Aldo Leopold cabin was a great experience. The cabin was clean and warm upon arrival which made settling in a breeze. Christophe greeted me and gave me a tour of his beautiful piece of property. With 60 acres in total there is a lot to explore in any season. With more accommodations being introduced on the property, I hope to return very soon! Thank you Christophe!

A large creek runs parallel down the property. The Aldo Leopold Cabin, exteriorAn outhouse is available for guests to use, if the shared bathroom is occupied. The 60 acre property boasts plenty of trails for hiking.
