Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain Ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. FYI we have moved our fence to accommodate our cows who live there year-round. Therefore some of our images from previous guests are a bit difference. Still a beautiful spot. The cows just get a whole bunch closer to you. Don’t worry we don’t charge extra for petting the cows.

The sunset views from this site were lovely and it felt very private and secluded. The site has a large wooden platform, two chairs, a fire pit, a stove, and a picnic table and benches as well as a small food prep counter. there was ample space on the grass for multiple tents as well. Wish the cows were more social; they were pretty shy for us sadly.
A really great view. However, there were no camp-style toilet!
It was promised!
The location of this campsite was stunning. The uninterrupted view of the Shawangunks with cows grazing in the foreground was magical. We loved our stay and so did our dog! We also appreciated the platform, table, cabinet and fire pit at the site along with the fact that we could drive right up to it all. The only downside was that there was no running water or toilet, but luckily we were prepared and the host said we were welcome to go to the farm store down the road for these amenities if needed. As a few people stated you can hear some noise from a nearby road but it wasn’t too loud and didn’t bother us. It seemed to be a rather small tradeoff for the wonderful location near the mountains but also very close to the towns of New Hope and Gardiner with lots of fun activities to do nearby. Overall I would definitely recommend this spot as long as you come prepared!

There was no visible bathroom as listed, potable water was not visible - the only filled vesicle was open and less than half full.

I had a great time camping at Wright's farm! Such a beautiful, private, and conveniently located spot. The view is gorgeous and the cows...don't get me started on the cows--I fell in love! I will totally return in the future as I visit the New Paltz area often. Gratitude!

Mohonk Mountain View Farm is appropriately named! The view is stunning. You get privacy and quiet space. I do agree with the previous review that the site is not as advertised. I would say come prepared especially for the summer with your own canopy, there is no shade between 10 AM & 6 PM. Bring your own tent, chairs, firewood, food, cooking whether stove or over fire, toilet paper, cleaning and trash bags. You can drive your car up to the site so have items well organized and your trip will be a breeze. There are great spots to explore nearby and we could leave our items comfortably. Also you’ll have cows that’ll visit and if during the week someone comes to feed them. Fall or spring would be perfect time to visit to avoid heat!

Great views tho not as advertised
Overall we had a great time staying at this campsite and the views of the Shawangunk Ridge and the valley below are amazing. Fairly easy to find and you don’t need a 4x4. It was super cool to see the cows come up to the fence and actually interact with them. I would come back for a much lower price given a few inaccuracies.
I have to point out that the listing is not accurate for a few reasons. 1) the stone fire pit is fenced off by a metal fence so it cannot be accessed - they had a metal fire pit that was ok but took away from the experience 2) there was no tent on the platform - good thing we brought an extra tent for my friends 3) the listing is fairly private but you can hear a few loud trucks/ cars on the road
Overall I thought the cost for one night for 4 people ($175) was not worth it (they increase the price the more people you add)
great stay here. very beautiful sunrise light on the mountains. Clean and private.
Didn't know there is a tent already set here for you with air mattress but the tent itself is not in its best shape.
In the morning you can hear some highway car noise from the tent but it's very minor.
Would recommend it here for anyone!
