Site 2 - Shimmers camp
This was a great camping spot. It is dispersal camping on a farm lot, so don't expect something else. But it was lovely, quiet aside from country road traffic noise, and flexible. We were able to pick a spot that suited our needs and build a fire ring where we wanted it. The indoor bathroom in the main house wasn't a showroom, but it was functional and the water was warm.
Sharon was kind and provided the perfect balance of checking in without being overly present. It was a perfect spot for a no-frills escape to view what was unfortunately a cloudy eclipse. Still a grand time.

The best camping host I’ve met!!!
Sharon’s farm/field is AMAZING, almost as amazing as she is!!! I’ve traveled a TON using sites like Airbnb and have never met a host as down to earth, caring and real as Sharon. She was so fun to talk to and insanely hospitable; she insisted on bringing bricks and firewood over to our site for the fire rather than us carrying it.
We stayed on a small “island” on the edge of her property (area of land with a man made mote around it, AMAZING) and it was more than we could’ve hoped for. A hot shower and kitchen tools on site, *keep in mind this IS just a farm and field, don’t expect bath houses and paved areas*, an amazing view of the sky and stars at night and a great host.
We came up to see the eclipse and even though it was cloudy the day of, Sharon’s personality, property, and helpfulness throughout the trip made everything worth it. I HIGHLY recommend booking a campsite at Sharon’s ground, you won’t be disappointed!

Sharon was a great host - very responsive a flexible with our schedule. CAmping in a nice field where you can pick your spot. Fire pit comes together where u like it (bricks). Nice location, close to town but not too close. Toilet/shower are spartan, but you are camping, and it’s better than most examples of such facilities in public spaces.

Thank you Sharon
My friends and I decided to try camping (it was first time camping for some of the friends). We loved camping on Sharon's land. Big open field - was a perfect set up for a total eclipse of 2024 and star gazing at night. There were lots available by some trees or even little island in the middle of the pond. You can hear traffic from nearby road - but it was still very calm and remote, especially at night. Sharon is very accommodating and helpful. She provided fire pit ring and dry firewood. Since some people in my group were newbies - it was great to have access to toilet and hot shower (and kitchen / outlet to make coffee).

I believe the recent weather was at fault here but the field is a bit muddy and our van got stuck. Luckily we were able to push it out. The host was extremely nice and accommodating. There were little slides and play houses along with a trampoline that kept the kids happy. The field is open so you’re visible to the road and other campers.

Escape the city!
I had such a nice time camping on Sharon’s land. It’s a big open area with terrific, open sky views. Campers are spread out, so privacy and noise are not an issue. It’s a perfect place to get away from it all!
